Will AI revolutionize professional soccer recruitment?
The Major League Soccer announced it will start using AI-powered tools in its talent recruitment process. The professional sports industry has been primed for the potential impact of artificial intelligence. But is it too soon to say that AI has entered the mainstream in soccer?
Interesting article on basically a scouting app that allows players to register themselves with a mobile video of them doing drills. Scouts can then search by stats and whatever the AI pulls out of the videos and decide if they want to go watch them live.
Sold as a way for players in places without scouts to get themselves noticed as well as a way to cast a wider net.
