Confusion they wear yellow and blue, our home kit is blue but our away kit is yellow, so Shawsy gave us the away kit first but this seem to clash with the home kit so we had to change back into our home kit, this confused everyone except Joe Murphy and Baker who hadn't heard the initial instruction about the away kit as he had turned up his headphones too high.

The whole defense parted 'like the Red sea'.

Oh! And it's all very well the fans criticising the introduction of Roy on 88 minutes, but any imminent appearance by Cody will only trigger a further payment to Naarwich,

'So as far as that's concerned, it's a no goer, Geoff.'

"Finally 'Shawsy', do you expect to be installed in the hot seat with 'Carso 'and 'Oggy' assisting?'

Will 'Bakes' be made captain, and what influence do you expect 'Belly' to have on our relegation battle?'

'Well Geoff, despite his average of 10 league games a season, everybody at the club recognises the quality of 'Belly!'

13) The players got confused when Oggy checked his Rothmans Yearbook from 1990 and mentioned Gay Meadows. The choice of chapless shorts and pink shirts was blamed for the players poor ball control, but it turns out that Murphy was quite good with his hands. Sadly he got beaten by the near post.

1. The grass was too long.

2. The floodlights were a bit dazzling

3. Someone coughed and we lost our marker at the corner that led to the goal

4. Some of the players were a bit cold.

5. McDonald missed the penalty because he had a runny nose

6. We were going to make the substitution on 60 mins but it took a further 20 mins for ROD to get his tracksuit top off, so that really killed us today.

7. Joe missed the cross cos he'd just spotted a shooting star in the sky.

8. We went into the game believing we could win, but obviously when Shrewsbury had no players sent off the entire game then that didn't make it a fair contest. It's something we are going to speak to the FA about.

9. The players were tired after going to the bank to see how much money they had in their accounts.

10. We felt sorry for ourselves for some reason. I can only put that down to us watching 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' just after training. it was supposed to be 'Pulp Fiction' but none of the players know how to operate a DVD player correctly.

11. We are delighted with the draw. We were thinking 'defeat' and all the players had the 'finger' ready to give the fans and everything after the game, so we are really happy with being encamped in our own box for the 90 minutes and coming away with a much needed point.

12. It was supposed to be 4-4-2, but of course when I held the tactics board up the wrong way in training the players all read the instruction upside down and obviously only playing 2 at the back all night really proved our downfall.

'Sky Blues manager Richard Shaw was full of praise for his struggling Coventry City side as they very nearly rescued a point on Tuesday night against Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow. City saw goalkeeper Joe Murphy dismissed in the 6th minute for a professional foul, and despite back up Chris Dunn being on the bench, striker Roy O'Donovan was sent in goal to face the resulting spot kick, which was duly converted. The Shrews continued to press their advantage throughout the first half, with the Sky Blues struggling to cope with Jermaine Grandison's aerial threat from set pieces. O'Donovan had to be at his finest when Grandison fired unmarked from a corner, but was powerless to stop the ex-City youngster's overhead kick just before half time.

Caretaker manager Shaw shuffled the pack after the break, with Shaun Jeffers replacing David McGoldrick, and fellow youngster Billy Daniels coming on for an irate Kevin Kilbane. The changes had some positive impact, as City earnt their first corner of the match on the hour mark. Carl Baker's delivery was poor, however, and from the resulting counter attack Shrewsbury increased their lead with a clinical finish past a hapless O'Donovan. The Sky Blues rallied, however, when a stray O'Donovan clearance was carried by gale force winds and straight over the Shrews keeper into the goal for the Irishman's first ever league goal in a City shirt. More calamity followed for the home side when a horrendous mix up between Grandison and his goalkeeper allowed Jeffers an empty net and, for the first time, an opportunity to claim a highly unlikely draw. For the remaining 20 minutes the away side bombarded the Shrewsbury goal, forcing one more corner and achieving 4 shots off target, but the Shrews held firm to condemn the Sky Blues to a 4th consecutive league defeat which leaves them rooted to the bottom of the League One table.'

Coventry City midfielder Carl Baker has said that the Sky Blues need to cut out their defensive mistakes and defend when they need to defend.


“Everyone who was at the game could see that we probably looked the better team but at the end of the day when they need to defend they are defending and we’re not, and, personally that’s where I think we’re going wrong.”

If Baker and the forward players played to their potential we could concede 2 goals and still win.

We have scored 5 goals in 6 games - pathethic. Stop blaming the defense Baker.
