I understand the sentiment but I can't see it getting any traction.

  • Still options on the table (e.g. JS said that having both sides' surveyors look at the arena value and hitting the average was one way for SISU to take CCFC back to the Ricoh)
  • Not much of a groundswell of support unlike FCUM, AFC Wimbledon etc.
  • Already existing options (Sphinx, Cov Utd, Leamington FC, Nuneaton etc.)
  • Big split of opinions – some will follow CCFC no matter what, some wait until return to the Ricoh, some will go to Ricoh or new ground, some will go elsewhere, some will give up, some will follow a new club.
  • Despite a bit of chatter, nobody has put a marker down and said 'Let's do this, meeting at <place> at <time> on <date>.'

This has to be one of the shittest threads I've ever seen on here. Up there with Jemal from Bongo Bongo land trying to sell Human excrement.

Why does it mean a new club? Can people really give up supporting a team they have for years so easily?

Not yet it isn't. I think the OP is just feeling like he's had enough, like a lot of us, but as long as CCFC In Northampton still exists with a possibility of it coming back to Coventry, then we can't re-start the club.

What today maybe does though is rule out a potential return to Coventry. Once that is confirmed-probably in a few years time-we can start again.

Of course they can't but on more than one occasion in the last couple of years I've wished I could. Being a football supporter is supposed to, at least occasionally, be an enjoyable experience but for us it just seems to be one thing after another. Every time you think it's bottomed out and things will get better it just gets worse!

probably not the right time to start a new club yet but a 10,000 stadium on the baginton airport site in 5 years time is hardly wetting my appetite, think the ricoh is souless this would be worse. I'm all for it as I think so are the majority of fans if this looks to be dragging on indefinitely.

You mean that sometimes our opinions coincide. I even agreed with Duffy a couple of times in 2011-12.

My club played in Coventry, the longer it stays away the less it becomes my club. Brighton, Rotherham were different circumstances we are closer to the Wimbledon scenario.

well i'm having a good time following Diss Town around the back lanes of Norfolk. Plenty of ale and really good home cooked grub.

The fans are happier to be around ,and some grounds I go to they treat you like royalty if you spend a bit in the bar. All in all I'm enjoying this far too much, much more than I thought ,and next week-end two of my old muckers I that used to go to the Ricoh are taking a break watching Brackley Town and coming up to sample a Diss Town FC drinkfest, come on you tangerines.

I just can't stand all the woes going on at Cov and for the first time in ages i'm enjoying saturdays

Not in favour yet, still time to get our club back.

I think your forgetting something Nick, it is the club that has abandoned the fans, not the other way round.

I would be happy to support both personally and would happily help with setting such a club up. Having said that CCFC would always be my main club at least until its confirmed we will never return to Coventry. As NLHWC said, its not yet time, lets see what happens.

Feeling like I've had enough today. Time to go to bed and hope I'm not feeling like this when it's time to go to a game again. But right now I'm ready to switch to ice hockey.

Not sure what it'd take for you lot to want a new club. Man Utd simply didn't like their owners and being in debt (not that it has affected their spending or success in any way).

What is her next threat if she can't get planning permission?

Can you lot really wait 5 or more years for a ground?

When will the time come? Maybe it isn't today, but If never then I have to say that's gutless.
