I heard that The experienced brazilian striker is the 6ft, 1" striker Afonso Alves. Somebody mentioned his name and if you put 2+2 together it adds up, so could be possible.
used to play for borough and at heerenveen, his goal tally exceeded his appearence number!
prolific and experienced, being 31 and having played for 7 different clubs at senior level.
currently a free agent so sounds more plausable than the weller pereira that nobody can find and who's not experienced!

I loved him, however he was deemed a flop. If his head is in the right place would be awesome however I presume wages would be a stumbling block.

Think his goal ratio was massively boosted by the traditional goal feats dutch league if memory serves me right.

Think he was a 10 mill player once

Not a chance its him. He scored 24 goals in 31 games in Qatar last season so why would he come to League One?

yeah afonso would be good but he's been playing for a club in dubai who are probably mega rich. but being a free transfer and fitting the bill, there's always a possiblility!
whoever the mystery striker is, he has to be prolific because we need an out and out goalscorer now.

People are just guessing names, rather daft, just wait and see instead of playing football rumors .com/wrongguesspleasemakeupanother

according to Alves's wikipedia page he is widely expected to rejoin Al Rayyan, the side he is on loan at. Even if you put aside his wages and reputation i think that makes it unlikely.

Bruno (Sacha Baran Cohen) and Ricky Gervais are more likely to sign than Alfonso Alves.

Whoever these 2 turn out to be are likely to be a let down after all this feverish speculation.
Still it's better than last summer's doom, gloom and MK fiasco.
