He has clearly never paid £38 for the privilege of being in the upper tier and not being able to see the goal line at Loftus Road...

Not sure I would take seriously the words of someone who looks like a pizza sliding down a wall

He clearly. Only likes old grounds. Rating Watford at 5 and qpr at 1. Both need knocking down as not fit for purpose

The other 3 stands I think are beautiful.

Traditional Kop
Classic old Main Stand
Post modern futuristic 60's stand on other side

100% it was always going to be bookended by big fanbases to be shared with honour / outrage.

Someone I work with (Charlie Baker) now works there a lot and it’s quite illuminating talking to him about Talksport.

It was built in about 1910, with renovation works in 1995.

No one considered the main stand at HR to have been built in 1996 just because it had renovation works then

Reminds me of those horrible 60s/70s buildings on New Union St with the estate agents in them

I have been.... and the last time i went was typical city..... fantastic day until the football started and we were 2 down in 20mins.

That doesn't diminish my thoughts on the stadium itself.

They would have had it been doubled in size, a new tier added to it and a completely different roof added.

I get your point but that stand bears no resemblance to the original one. In no way, shape or form is it “old”.

You could argue that for HR too though. Do these look like the same stand?

it’s no big deal, I do see your point, and I love Hillsborough although they do need to do some work there, it’s beyond run down these days.

Here’s the equivalent for them:

Well it’s still a fine, traditional looking stand.

I think if they sorted out the away end it would be a great stadium

no argument there, it’s a traditional design alright. A roof gable always looks really good, so much character.

That lower tier is dangerous and should not be allowed to open.

Since 1989 and that awful day, the only thing that has changed about that stand is the seats have been put in

It isn't right really...

Sheffield is a great away day! Plenty of pubs in the city centre and either walkable to Bramall Lane or a quick tram to Hillsborough

Both proper, traditional football grounds!

Resplendent and so cool, always got a buzz entering HR. There was something about the sky blue infrastructure and the lush green turf.

But to have it behind the Kassam Stadium which is missing a stand is ridiculous
