If they are good and go, then the club are in a good position..

They have to pay the reminder of his contract AND a compenstaion fee.

It's the risk you take, if your appointing a manager it's because you believe he can improve your club so a 3 year contract is smart...however if you make the worong appointment your stuck with him or have to pay him off.

12 month rolling contracts are a good idea BUT you need to get a loyal manager like Coppell or Pearce who won't up and leave the first time a bigger club show any interest. The first time we appointed a good manager on a rolling contract a Prem club would be in for him in a flash!!!

Steve Coppell a loyal manager? Well that does tickle me.
