Adam Le Fondre a target??

Checked his stats etc and got excited with this lad (24 years old) with 106 goals scored in 253 league games equiv to nigh on 20 goals per 46 game season BUT his career has been confined to the lower two leagues.

Will the gap be too big from League 2 to the Championship bearing in mind our past experience with one FW and Robbie Simpson - both prolific scorers in lower leagues but failed to hack it higher up.

Could this be a potential gem from AT?

We've been linked with the guy so many times in the last few seasons and I always get excited that we'll sign him. I think he could do well in this league as shown in the stats above Le Fondre knows where the net is and is scoring for fun is the lower leagues. He's a hidden gem and is still young, (a lot younger than other strikers were linked too!).

Is he any good?? Can imagine now singers corner and cet (most vocal stands) singing "Rooney, Rooney......".

Although we'd have to change sheffers song as some fans sing "he comes from coventry, hes better than Rooney...". Might cause some unrest

Lets all sing together

CET a vocal stand ??

I managed to get a ticket there for a change with a couple of mates for the Leeds game - we sat 2nd row from top in the middle expecting it to be lively - it was shit - bloke behind said " can you sit down mate I can't see" - We shuffled along in the end to generate a few songs with a couple of other guys down the line

'Henry' was the original version but it doesn't make much sense now as Henry is no were near the player he used to be.

League 2 striker that scores a lot....is it Andy Morrell in disguise?

And how often did Andy Morrell get to play as a striker ? Yet still scored a few.

This is the thing, we keep hearing the same names linked, but most of us haven't seen enough of these guys in action to make an informed decision.

I think this says a lot about the modern football fan:

I disagree, Bowdwitches goal record is terrible and rooney seems to only be proven in scotland and i think the 2nd division.

I think Le fondre could be a good gamble for a reasonable price. Young, and coming up so wouldnt have a problem if he wasnt a starter. We need to start making more risky moves, its the only way to push on.

Agreed, I feel Thorn is the man who'll do that. He's not one of these perma-failure merry go round managers who buy players on a whim or reputation, his scouting background means he looks at players more critically. Le Fondre is a risk, but it's one that could pay off. That said, he can't be relied upon on for goals at this level, not really fair to expect him to deliver. Even though we haven't signed anyone yet, that's ok - we shouldn't be Ade panic buying!

Nice linkage. Great tune too. By judging the comments on youtube, he's going to be in demand with a number of clubs.

I see no reason why Le Fondre couldn't be a hit at the Ricoh.

Danny Graham was on fire for Watford last season and he came from a lower league.

These are the sort of players we have to take a risk on IMO as it's not every season your going to get a good striker out of jail free card.

Bristol have jus signed a strike from league 2. They obviously think he's ready for the jump, so why shouldnt we take a gamble.

Just seen the vid of Le Fronde - very impressive.

Sort of player who thrives on receiving ball to feet in and around the box and also can move with the ball and score.

I know its league 2 BUT the guy ticks most of the boxes that are required of a striker with potential.

Not a physically big player, same size as K Philips I would say, but is quick and always appears to be in the right place at the right time often converting lost causes into goals.

Definitely worth a punt

Good goal scorers always seem to be in the right place at the right time and score a variety of goals. Not a one trick pony as in misfud, so lets go get him and quick.

Andy Morrell, Freddie Eastwood, even Roy O'Donovan were all prolific at that level and higher.

I'm not saying he isn't worth a go, but only if he's cheap and the fee is performance based. It's now a bigger step up imo than many give credit for. I would love to see him here, but not if it swallows up the whole of our limited budget as it's definitle a risk.
