Is he even still with us?

Presume he is not part of the plan?

Never quite worked out if he is a talented sicknote or simply not good enough / too lightweight

Wouldn't be surprised if Waggott is trying to sort a deal to get him off the books.

Only worry would be though that he'd probably prefer to stay for the next 12 months earning his weekly wage, than agreeing a pay off that will be considerably less than that 12 months wages together, and the possibility of not getting snapped up by someone else.

He couldn't even make the Fleetwood bench last year remember!

Prime example of why 1 year contracts with an option to extend is a good thing!

Yes the same was also true somewhat with Moussa.

I take your point though. The downside is that unlikely to attract certain players who are after a bit more certainty but then again the players might be "hungrier" to impress with 1 year deal.

Surely a League 2/conference team must be interested? Maybe they are but SP sees (unlikely I know) potential in him.

Maybe thorn can take him when he manages a big club?

I always saw something in Barton. Just can't put a bloody tackle in or win a single header all game!

Ran the show few seasons ago against Doncaster at home (they were top i think) Played the holding midfield role and was outstanding. SP changed the formation last season and that was the end of Barton.

Yeah hes certainly gifted with the ball at his feet. Think he'd be a better freestyler than on a pitch

I seem to recall something similar this season at Bristol city when we won 2-1. Was very impressed with him that night, horrible conditions, but played very well in a holding midfielder role. Shame it hasn't worked out for him, I assume his leg break may have stopped progression? Tackling etc...

cant forget the wankers giving him grief in the pre game warm up start of last season ,of course they were all very talented players themselves gobbing of from the stand ,ready for a training session in the pub before getting up to pull on their pub football shirt ,.does nowt for players confidence being mouthed at by twats who are meant to be there to support the team

It'll go the way of the 'bomb squad' last season I expect, they'll try and offload him to somebody on a free unsuccessfully all summer and eventually have to pay him off.

Yes, I think they are about to do the same with Baker too.

Good - at least on the playing side they are thinking like football owners.
