Yes he was not a free transfer. Id imagine there is a player or two lined up and someone has to go off the payroll. He's a luxury player to say the least so has to go.

I think from memory it was a £300,000 compensation fee, but I wouldn't hold me to that.

Another inspired Waggott signing, one by one Pressley is weeding these duffers bought by a dope out

Thank god, he needs investigating for impersonating a footballer, I thought he was crap which was confirmed by his contribution in the Wimbledon FA cup game

He cost a £100000, had a serious leg break and was bought by Waggott with a hope he returned to his previous good and promising form and we could hive him off for a profit. He is out of his depth physically in a league like division 3.

Good player and good attitude, I like Barton. Just don't think he quite fits Pressley's profile of what he's looking for in a central midfield player. Will do well for another L1 team and certainly has the ability to play at Championship level again.

All the best, Adam.

So any good signings(not that many admittedly) would be Thorn signings, and any crap ones(far exceeding the good ones) are Waggott signings?

The Thorn's Final Gift thread still makes me chuckle though.

Good technical ability but SP's game is all about high work rate, intensity and pressing. Barton doesn't fit that mould.

Still a young lad tough and in a different team, could be a very good player. Wish him well if he goes.
