Saw this blow up on twitter, is that the original source?

Suspect if he is loaned out he would be quite happy to come back here so hopefully TM is staying in touch with Newcastle.

Had he continued to score second half of the season he would be going to a Championship club. I think this could happen. They trust Mowbray with him and will be looking for him to try and sustain his former over a whole season and start games

I just can't see him coming back here at all.

But then I can't see he going to a championship club ether.

Looks like and smells like bullshit to me but then it doesn't commit and look stupid does it? He doesn't claim to be nailed on or 100%.

We know we are in for him anyway. Just we don't think we will get him.

If he came back I would hope that he would do shite and not score any goals. If he played well Newcastle would call him back now they are nearly at our level.

Well unless he becomes part of their first team he will be going somewhere, can't see Newcastle loaning him to a championship team so why not here, perhaps as last season until Christmas first.

I didn't know what this was in reference to, and I really wish I hadn't gone to look. Holy shit.

I see the secret ploy of him not scoring much for the 2nd half of the season now...so he can come back to us this season again

Yep stupidly watched it last night when it pinged up on facey, just as the misses was serving dinner, instantly regretted it. Probably the worst one ive seen since Eduardo for Arsenal a few years back.

Doesn't sound likely from what AA himself has said:

Armstrong said: “Last season was great for me. The whole experience of it was good and the gaffer was brilliant with me down there.

“All of the lads were too. But it’s now time to move on and look forward to my career and see where it takes me next.

Probably hedging his bets?

I suppose realistically, loads of clubs would fancy taking him on loan. Question is will the Geordies want to loan him to potential champ competition?

I suppose the original plan was to loan him to Championship team, but now that Newcastle are in the Championship themselves they dont want to. I think they will loan him to a league one team (which if they do, would be us I think) or a Scottish team until January. In January they will have a better idea of who is challenging for promotion and who is trying to stay up and at that point will loan him to a Championship team that isn't one of their rivals.

It would be great to see Adam play for us again and, as you state, it is unlikely that Rafa would allow him to join a rival Championship club.

It isn't even a monetary issue as Newcastle covered all of his wages and expenses last season and so we have as much chance as any League One club in securing his services.

The big threat to that is the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers are back in the game under Warburton and Celtic need a clear out under Brendan Rodgers.

Let us hope that Adam's experience with us last season stands us in good stead.

Newcastle are going to steamroll the league, so they could comfortably send him on loan to a mid table / lower half Championship team and have no worries. If anything he'll help Newcastle by maybe taking some points off their rivals.

On the other hand what better time to use him from the subs bench. Even though he might be 4th or 5th choice striker I can see Rafa blooding him in the championship.
