Would just like to say what awesome people Young Adam Armstrongs family are. Got some insights into Adams future.

after the match we are staying at premier travel inn in Crewe. Having dinner and drinks at the Brewers fayre. As my 9 year old son is waxing lyrical about today's performance and about Adam in particular. A bald slightly overweight Geordie comes up to my table and says I'm Adams dad. I thought whatever mate.

btw he was a top bloke. I said your having a laugh. He then proceeded to show me his phone and photos all of Adam etc.

He then asked my son would you like to speak to AA and he duly did. Put AA on his speakerphone phone. My boy and us dumbstruck.

adam Armstrongs mum, girlfriend and girlfriends mum and dad were sat adjacent table.

speaking to them. He lives in leamington Spa by himself. They are all staying in holiday inn opposite wit AA.

His is girlfriend told us AA loves Coventry and loves playing here. And that he will be here for rest of season.

his dad said the same. Top bloke.

The he players have Monday off so AA is going to Newcastle tomorrow.

His dad also said its not up to Mclaren. It's up to the hierarchy if he stays.

From the fanily point of view they are delighted he's at Cov!!!
And want him to stay.

Great news ! I've seen on Twitter Armstrong girlfriends dad loves cov judging by his tweets he's even had a flag made with "armas army" printed on it and "Pusb" and "toon army" on it. I genuinely think Adam is very happy at city and seems to be getting on well with Murphy madders etc.. He will stay sure !

Bleh, that's never happened to me...jammy git.

The nearest I ever got was spotting Marcus Hall in Virgin Megastore, circa 1995, saying: "alright Marcus!" to him, and him just going : "marp" and almost legging it out the store. What "marp" was, or means, is still a mystery to me.

Still, it's a feel-good factor to know Arma is enjoying his time here, and that his family are clearly very supportive of him.

Some people just deserve to have success and then you have pond life that make it as players that make you sick

It must be really hard living away from family and friends miles from home, and I think the last couple of weeks being away for holidays has probably took it's toll on him a little.

With that said I have no doubt that Adam will make it at the highest level and I'll keep an eye on his progress when the sad day comes that he doesn't play for us any more.

I stood next to Trevor Gould once at the Potters Green Primary School Summer fête.

Got his autograph and it's the only autograph I have ever got from a player.

Yeah, at least you got his autograph, he didn't turn to you, go "marp!" and then leggit! Still haunts me, that sound...

Great info there, I think wherever the wind blows him in the future he will given his performance thus far and being top scorer and all that look back at Cov with pride.

As far as I'm concerned I wanna see this lad go all the way humbling to see where this lad gets level headed security from.

It it gets portrayed on the pitch.

If AA or his family get any say on things. He WILL be at cov for rest of season.

I can fully believe all that because we had similar in the casino a month or two before the game after Peterborough (Blackpool I think)...he was talking to some of us after hearing hs talking about promotion and a couple of us at first didn't believe him about AA till he showed us pictures like you said!

Down to earth bloke with a sense of humour. Said that everyone forgets he's only a 18year old lad and needs to be be learning every week. At that point he wouldn't elaborate on whether he would stay or not but he said he's enjoying it and getting to play so they were all chuffed. Said he's a Newcastle lad and wants to make it there but all in good time type of thing.

He seems a very level headed lad and his family are down to Earth.

Adams work-rate today was outstanding. I really hope this lad goes on to get us promoted this season and to go on to become an England goalscorer.

Great to hear.

His success is a good example to other young players. Far better off being here with a young squad banging the goals in than sat on Newcastles bench in a relegation battle.

Fantastic to hear & what a moment for your lad to talk to him.

Credit to AA & his family!

With the set of players we have this season, the characters & the relationship they all seem to have WE HAVE to get promoted Anthony else would be heartbreaking for all concerned!

Nobby Stiles told me to fuck off! I allowed it as he has a World Cup winners medal and would have probably been able to beat me up.

love it when this happens

was walking to plough lane with my dad for a game in the 80s, a harry shaw coach pulled up it was the team bus, cut a long story short they were lost so we hopped on bus whilst my dad directed it i sat playing cards with killer peake and cyrille! got everything autographed and when out the ground george curtis pulled a couple of tickets out of his top pocket for us

will never forget that day

meeting the cov players in london once a season through the london supporters club was also amazing

I once stood 10 yards away from Willie Carr.

.
He was on the pitch at Highfield Road and I was watching the game.

a few years ago when the sky blues were having to raise money to keep the academy going i compared a charity horse racing night at the higgs centre and a lot of the players were there and Oggy bought me 2 pints and Brian borrows bought me one too
was a top night and we raised quite a few quid for the academy

Got a "Merry Christmas" from Bobby Gould and his family when I bumped into them one Christmas Eve in West Orchards. Got a "huh" from Noel Whelan and Eion Jess when I saw them on The Parade in Leamington.

Callum Davenport once threatened to have my mate killed on a night out. "Don't you know who I am?" He said.

Marcus Hall got off with my mate in some nightclub.

Bigi came to the school I used to work at as lots of his church worked there.

I think I taught Bassala Sambo once. Not sure though.

I think that's it for CCFC brushes with fame.

Oh apart from my first ever game where I got to go in the dressing room and saw Oggy in the bath. Stuck with me for life that.

I once met Adrian Heath, Peter Reid and oggy in a bar in brum. Tried to have a conversation with oggy but he said he needed a piss and would come back and chat - he didn't.

I like to think it was because he was drunk and forgot!! Just can't dislike oggy!

No, my mate works there and says that I shouldn't approach him and say hello. Maybe he just wants to be left alone in the gym?

Marcus Hall, yeah? Did he say "marp!" and hastily make an exit, at all, hmm?

Probably not.
