I see Facebook were outbid for Waze. Time for Zuckerberg to sell up I guess. Obviously not a viable business model according to the business geniuses in here

I'm no sisu fan but do think acl need to prove they can get big events in o a regular basis. U21 football, european rugby, darts, snooker, wwe. If the secured these sort of events regularly it proves they can make a go of it without ccfc. Not doubting they're still making money as the mortgage is so low but do wonder how long the casino, hotel, cafés will stay if they don't get the football footfall back.

It seems odd that events don't seem to return. They do well to attract business but can never seem to hold on to it for very long. Surely that says more about ACL than anything else. It was an issue prior to the football club leaving.

You're right about the casino and hotel, though. Capri had to leave while the club was there due to poor income, imagine what the lack of Saturday crowd has done for the current company. As for the hotel - well yes they have conventions etc but there's people who got married there because it was Coventry City's ground, who usually used the hotel too - plus the pitch side room can't be a selling point anymore.

The word sustainable seems a bit bold!!

I do agree with this, but all this nonsense must have had an affect on the Arena business as well as damage Sisu's reputation, the last five venues to host games for the England U21 fixtures were:

Madejski Stadium
Portman Road
Stadium MK
New Meadow
Pride Park

Should the facts be right according to Wiki the Ricoh hasn't held an U21 game since 2006..

Just listened to Barry Hearns on radio.

Basically he is keeping 'Champion of Champions" snooker event at Ricoh, but not moving a bigger event hosted at York there..
So it counts as an opportunity missed, not a revenue stream missed.

Looking forward to seeing the accounts published on time and in full. I can then as well as others debate the viability of ACL without the football club. Until then it is just guesswork from a biased position to support either view.

Which events that you would expect to return have moved elsewhere?

Not certain but did Capri not leave as they were having financial problems in the states and lost the bid for the super casino?

Grosvenor bought the company and downsized to make the business viable.
