I wonder why Fisher is now on radio saying that he will happily sit down for new talks with ACL and the council when he categorically said earlier that there was no chance on the Ricoh.
Liquidation of Limited now allows for a new lease to be drawn up which hopefully shouldn't be too tricky...

I admire your optimism
tbf to both sides as it affects their financial positions elsewhere, I can;t see any realistic way that could happen however, just from a practical sense. If there was a (genuinely) independent party present however, it could at least clarify debate.
The practicalities can be worked out later though can't they? At the moment the message should be club and stadium co. should meet!

I'm not being sarcastic here, but did you listen to the interview? Linnell seemed to come at it from about six different directions, until finally he got something along the lines of "if Martin Reeves called you would you talk to him?". Even then it seemed like the most grudging of responses to me.
I take your point though - we could just be hearing it in different ways.
I hope I'm wrong, but I predict that by Tuesday or Weds next week, TF will have found something that somehow prevents him from accepting ACL's offer.

And from my perspective he kept saying he wanted to talk and, Linnell being slightly surprised and actually doing his job, made sure there was absiolutely no doubt about what he meant by that.

I agree with you both sides should meet and it should be people who can do a deal without referring to someone else first. That there should be someone independent there is a must, otherwise Tim could just say something like "Any handshakes and not everyone had hands.....etc." How about it's videotaped and each party gets to keep a copy and they are the only copies. Video can be encoded I think with a watermark so if it leaked we'd know which side leaked it.
Like your sentiment NW but it aint never going to happen. Shitzu have retained the GS (albeit in another Company) and are all set to start the season. This crap about a new stadium is just that... CRAP. They will sit tight, make absolutely no investment in the team and await an offer of purchase.

Fair enough - I must confess that wasn't the way I heard it. Maybe I was grinding my teeth too hard and it affected my hearing.
To be clear, even now I'd be delighted if they could thrash out a deal - but I just don't think it's part of the SISU strategy. Happy to be proved wrong.

In fairness you know, outside of this he could be the nicest bloke in the world, is kind to his kids, gives generously to charity etc., but I can't listen to him without wanting to smash the radio in. It's just lucky we haven't got a cat.

I can't imagine that SISU do anything illegal, but fwiw I'll tell you who really likes multi-layered, opaque company structures, based outside conventional banking regulation, and with no obvious beneficial owner.
Money launderers.
Generally speaking they also don't worry too much about running up large debts in their companies either, as long as they can turn some money around.

Money launderers also consider the money lost/spent in this process a cost of laundering it, now hold on to your hats there are some great books on the subject by someone called Robinson. Jeffrey Robinson that is (please note the spelling this is not the Coventry MP) I've read most of them and recommend them all.

Come on Don, they were never going to liquidate and end club, and ACLs claim was always against Ltd as that's where the the lease was and that's who owed ACL the money.

I don't buy the money laundering theory. Surely if this was what they were up to they'd just pay the rent as they'd never want anyone even thinking about looking at things in more detail.
Have they done anything illegal, who knows but I'd love to see a proper investigation with forensic accountants called in. At the very least there must be some suspicion of asset stripping. A lot of people seem certain SISU are too clever to have done anything illegal but when you're on the fine line between legal and illegal it only takes a small mistake for you to find yourself on the wrong side of the line. With such a complex ownership structure and assets seemingly being passed around all over the place who would want to guarantee someone, somewhere along the line hasn't made an error?

Hi chief, in truth I don't think any investigation will go as far as the ultimate source of SISU's funds. And to be clear to any lawyers watching, I'm not for a moment suggesting that SISU are involved in laundering, I'm just pointing out the structures.
As you say the investigation will focus on the conduct of the directors. The things to google here are 'asset-stripping', 'wrongful trading', 'fraudulent trading', 'shadow directors', and 'liability'.
