Im what the bookie would call a mug punter, but I’m thinking of having a few quid on
Liverpool to win the league
Leicester to get relalgated
Leeds to get promotion
And Coventry to get promotion
God loves a trier, not as much as the bookie though
Not sure of the odds but it’s worth a tenner

What’s Leeds based on? Still a bit of a basket case isn’t it?

Isn’t perfect up there but they’ve just signed Barry Douglas so it must be getting better.

My outsiders for the season

Top 4 Prem Wolves 40/1
Relegated Newcastle 11/2
Championship Relegation Norwich 12/1

Nearly 3500 to 1

Wolves are decent but the top 6 is miles ahead of everyone else. If you can get top 10 then that could be a nice value bet.

Newcastle are defensively sound and have a cracking goalkeeper, they'll scrape a fair few 1-0's etc

I've played it relatively safe and gone 8-way outright on:

Man City
PSG
Celtic
Bayern
Juve
Porto
Salford
Liverpool (FA Cup)

£5 @ 176.39 for £880ish return

How can an eight timer be considered safe? FA Cup lottery, Salford unknown quantity, Man City will be run close this year (Scousers)

That's why I said "relatively safe". No 8-way is safe but if you told someone to pick 7 league winners and they went with the 7 favourites you wouldn't say they'd taken a big risk, especially when PSG/Bayern/Celtic/Juve are in a period of sustained dominance. I don't think Liverpool quite have enough for the league this year but can see Klopp prioritising a cup to show a return on investment.

You're definitely right about Salford, just because they've thrown money at it doesn't mean they'll have success again. They have brought in players way above conference level though so there's a chance, will be interesting to see how they do tomorrow v Leyton Orient who finished mid-table last season.

I'm probably going to keep an eye on the cash out option. If it gets to March and the first 7 are all in with a decent shout of the league and Liverpool get to the quarters, it might be worth it.
