I have just watched a news item on Sky about Accrington. Apparently the chairman, Mr Khan, has already put a substantial amount of money into the club and is about to put £2m more into the club. Apparently the club is "debt free" - probably means they only owe only the chairman but not sure. His comments were that the club belongs to the fans and community so by the end of his financial plan he wont have any shares and the club will be owned by the fans (they already own 20% of the shares). He wants fans or others to buy the current issue of shares but his further £2m isnt dependent on it. The share issue will raise even more funds for the club.

Interesting and refreshing way of looking at football club finance
