I have heard somebody was getting abused for going to sixfields at Preston.

Did anybody see or hear what happened?

Happy to be told it didn't happen!

There was an argument between two supporters on the block to the extreme right hand side of the away end, when facing the pitch, half way up.
Don't know why, but I thought t might be something to do with sixfields, nearly got out of hand.

Didn't see any trouble? Didn't see any stewards in the crowd either and I'm sure they would have got involved if there was any scuffling etc

This is where it goes too far, its fine for everyone to have an opinion on whether we should go to sixfields. Also fine to express and argue your viewpoint to another if you do it in the right way but when it amounts to a personal attack targeted at one person it goes too far.

How did it arise?

I'm guessing the guy wasn't shouting 'Look at me, look at me I go to sixfields' or wearing a t shirt with the slogan 'sixfields super fans'

It wasnt G he was in the pub with his mates, reading this forum out to them... the bounder...!!

Cheers for that. I'm down my local and had a wager with my drinking colleagues that you would somehow use the words estimated facts in the response.
I suspect there is now going to be a stewards enquiry as you've actually been rather creative (that old IQ of yours eh?) and said estimation. I say its sufficient and the beers on them.
I'm now telling them what your next response will include - don't disappoint me.

There's one old boy a few rows in front of us getting dogs abuse for going 6fields by a bunch of people. It's disgusting
They're so aggressive. All about 40. They're just pointing at him and shouting scab etc. everyone's entitled to do what they want...
Why should he have to be intimidated at a football match?
and this is why we have to find a solution soon as the club is being ripped apart
This is aggression. We're all Cov fans. We should stick together
Despise this 'scab' bollocks. If people want to go, good luck to them. They're going to support the team, not support SISU.
it's the fans who divide themselves. No one is forcing anyone to abuse anyone else, people will always find excuses though.
It's a shame. The confrontation has ruined an otherwise event free first half
Turns out the bloke getting stick runs the London Supporters Club. Sixfields or not, that's a Cov fan

This is never going to happen though, cos the move to Northampton divided the fans right down the middle.

We can't stick together, but what we can do is to respect fellow City fans' views.

And this is what our club has become. A divided group ready to pounce and argue at every opportunity. How anyone can support any of this is now beyond me.

The name Coventry City Football Club is bigger than you and me. It's bigger than Sisu, bigger than ACL and bigger than the lads currently wearing the shirt. If we're to get anywhere, people need to realise that CCFC needs to represent Coventry and needs to be something not just for us for now, but for the next generations that will be brought up in this city.

Pride needs to be swallowed by everyone and everyone has to realise this current situation is not sustainable. Are the ones going to Sixfields wrong? Yes. Are the ones shouting at those going to Sixfields wrong? Yes. Are Sisu wrong? Yes. Are ACL wrong? From a footballing standpoint yes.

Sisu don't give a rats about us fans and neither do ACL as both are looking at this as a business, not as the family club we once were. The current CCFC is not really Coventry City Football Club. It doesn't represent us as a city anymore and that has completely torn this fanbase apart. I have no sympathy anymore for the owners, the Sisu supporters or the ACL supporters. I'm a Coventry City supporter, and currently, we are not that side and people need to realise that. It's a sad state of affairs and it's a shame some are yet to realise the gravity of this situation and what it means for the future generations.

Arguing amongst ourselves won't sort this out. Forcing the hand of the parties involved to try to get us a solution is the only chance we have. Does that start with bickering in the stands? No, far from it.

Really sad times to be honest.

I think your wrong, that is their choice, you may disagree with it but that dosnt make it wrong.

There was a time when the one place all differences were forgotten was on the terraces supporting your team, its ok just intimidate the guys that go to 6fields at an away game, scare a few more fans away from supporting their team, shocking!
One or two less at the away games, at least they will feel safe and secure going to 6fields, common goal and all that, not like they travelled hundredsof miles to support the team, just keep on alienating and dividing the supporters, im sure that wasnt their goal, thats what it will do.

So basically, a bunch of 40 year old fatties stood there and abused an old timer who once ran the London Supporters Club because it is believed he has attended Sixfields? Classy. This shit gets worse every day.

My belief is that the blame , for this sad state of affairs, lies firmly with SISU.

They seek to divide and conquer us as fans.

In my opinion, it is all part of a plan to demonstrate that there is little support in Coventry for a football club, thus enabling them to relocate the club to a new ground in a location that will suit their plan and budget.

I'm sorry but the blame solely lies with the dickheads giving him sh*t for going to Sixfields. They're supposed to be grown men for f***s sake!

Loving Burbage's conspiracy theory as well, just a couple sentences short of claiming Tim Fisher is a reptillian humanoid thats part of the Babylonian Brotherhood.

All the off field events are bigger than the fans. Plenty have boycotted Sixfields and yet SISU are still 'proceeding' with the plans for the new stadium and the Council appear to care less now than ever. If people want to spend their money and their free time going to watch football and supporting a club they love home and/or away then why should anybody begrudge them that!? Unfortunately the fans clearly have no voice in this whole sorry saga so if people want to have their own principles that's fine but clearly abusing Cov fans for simply wanting to support something they love is a disgrace and cannot in the circumstances we find ourselves in be justified. Lets all sing together!!!

Propagada.

I have heard abuse from those that attend sixfields aimed at those that don't attend. Saying that they are not real fans unless they get behind the team.

I have heard the continues calls from those that attend Sixfields that they are superfans who are the only ones that know the truth. And all other fans are deluded.

I have heard abuse aimed at those that go stand on a hill in an attempt to do what feels right for them. Saying they are just after a free view.

I have heard abuse aimed at those that don't go to any games. Saying that they just don't care and can't call themselves fans.

I have heard abuse aimed at those that attend Sixfields from those that don't. Saying they support SISU and are Scabs

I have heard abuse aimed at away day only supporters from both Sixfield attenders and Non attendeds. Saying they Supporting SISU/ Not supporting the team / part timers / crap fans.

I have also heard people being told that having a view that SISU are ruining the club is attacking those that go to Sixfields. Even if Sixfields and the fans attendance is not mentioned.

...and everything else. At times just abuse to support a position and/or attack a position, with no proof that anyone is right.

Every side is at it one way or another. So cut the it's disgusting they call themselves fans bullshit and look at yourself first. All because you have picked a side there is no need to turn a blind eye to some abuse while acting outraged when some comes back.

You will all get the reputation of being as grown up as PNE town end fans if you don't stop over reacting.

It shouldn't be tolerated. I hope they find them and ban them from any further away games. Other fellow fans should have stepped in too. Would like to think I would have.

So you think 4 blokes having a go at an old man is acceptable? What the argument was about is irrelevant.
