Seen as there are a few player related threads for a (refreshing) change I thought I would start another.

I thought Phillips was excellent when he came on yesterday and made a couple of excellent tackles in difficult positions. Looks twice the player we first saw a couple of years ago.

Made two excellent tackles last Tuesday. Positioning was a tad out at times but that'll rectify with experience and game time. Another loan spell like he had last season or an extended run in the City team and he'll be well on his way.

Liked him, looked keen and had the bit between his teeth. Made 2 fantastic tackles straight away after coming on. Theres going to be faults in his game as hes young and inexperienced but promising espeically if Christies goes in the end.

Agreed! I thought he looked really sharp and aggressive, something you need in a team that presses a lot. Those two tackles were perfect, timed to precision and clean as a whistle. Those that play football will appreciate how hard it is to adjust your body like he did (I think for the second one on that Cody the commentators kept going on about). Bright future hopefully

I like young Phillips a lot he is not afraid to get stuck in, but what you didn't see yesterday but was evident during his cameo at Orient in the JPT is he can get forward on the attack as well, I am a little surprised Phillips didn't start yesterday.

Keep going Aaron!

The only time I'd seen him before yesterday was in the pre-season game at Nuneaton, where he looked to be a very attacking minded fullback.

Another promising youngster :claping hands:

first tackle was probably overly risky, and i felt he only had to make the (admittedly excellent) second tackle because he was caught hugely out of position. looks decent though.

If our center backs were a little more solid I'd like to see him start for his attacking prowess over Willis, but I felt Willis looked more solid defensively and we need that at the moment.

That tackle he made in the box was amazing. Could so easily have gone wrong!
