Most improved player this season by a stretch. There were some scousers behind me at the match on Saturday and they singled out what a good player he is, reads the game very well and now makes the right decisions, just need a beast to partner him next season.

tbf to him, he was good when he first cma ein under Robins, too. He just seemed to get caught up in the general shite towards the end of Pressley's time here.

Question is, would a Martin and WIllis centre back pairing suffiuce for next season?

Would prefer to see Martin and Reda at CB. Willis still thinks he's a RB and goes AWOL from his man too often when playing at CB.

His performance at home to Crewe when we lost our final home hame last week - was a shocker but will admit that he is much improved.

onder how Pennigtons contract is doing with Everton as they seem to have loaned him out again this season which does not bode well for him getting a long term contract with them, he would do a good job along side Martin

Martin has been brilliant this season. We should be offering him a renewed contract ASAP

Yeah, Martin has been pretty exceptional. So has Stokes. At least we're praising players that are actually OURS!

Wonder what the chances are of getting Stephens for another season.

Reda and Martin would be great but obviously keeping Reda fit is the challenge.

He's contracted till 2018 so they can loan him for development.
Martin has done really well this season. I'd like to see Ben turner next to him next season as our captain. To good central defenders there.

That would be decent given that he seems to perform better with an experienced player alongside him, Webster the exception

He's definately bee a decent player for us this year. Would have put money on him being one to have left on the summer! (But I'm awful at betting)

Much improved and hardly puts a foot wrong. Forget Reda, he's just a waste of a wage.
Willis would be my choice;
Phillips/Willis/Martin/Stokes

Not sure about Phillips. Too prone to errors that tend to result in conceding goals.

Do rate Willis though but as a CB, although TM seems to prefer him for RB doesn't he?

I don't think Willis and Martin is the right level of CB's needed for an entire League one season, i like both, but think you need the Reda/Turner type.
I don't mind willis at RB i know he isn't the best attacker, but he is solid enough defensilvey, and would be happy with him at RB next season.

He hasn't yet got a contract for next season, still has to prove himself, but he is being given the opportunity.

He seems another sicknote he's only managed 6 out of a possible 21 appearances since we signed him.

No chance of us getting Ben Turner in the summer! Blimey, wishful thinking...

martin has been very good. gets his head to everything, cuts out danger by reading the game well and generally improved beyond recognition. reminds me of a young Gary Gillespie.

He is a giant when on the pitch if he was fit this season we would be top 6 minimum

Don't see it myself.

Would be very surprised if we were to waste wages on re-signing him!

Players with his record have been accused of fleecing the club in the past - Sherwood and ONeil just to name two. Yet Reda finds himself protected........

But he wasn't, and hasn't lasted a full season in years.

I would sign Reda on a pay as you play, if he gets injured then we spent his wages on a replacement. He can't see him flooded with better offers.

I would also re sign Ricketts on the proviso that he's fourth choice CB. Experience and squad continuity is a plus. He could still do a job when called upon, just not as first choice every game.

People moan about constitency and injuries but want to sign him. There must be other options.

People moan about consistency - then mention re-signing Ricketts. People moan about injuries - then mention re-signing Reda. Couldn't make it up

Well to be fair, I have never moaned about Ricketts - in fact, consistency in terms of squad players being there from one season to the next (rather than starting from afresh each season) is key, hence why there's a case for re-signing him.

With Reda on a PAYP, there's no down side for us - either he plays and we do well, he he doesn't and we get to spend the money on someone else.

Apart from the fact you wouldn't attract as good a quality of player, who's happy to be reserve until Reda's injured... as opposed to just going for the first team choice, straight out.

And who's to say Reda will take a pay as you play deal? And like mentioned earlier , its as much about the disruption to the team and manager trying to replace him than it is about the wages. 2 seasons running this has been an issue.

Third time lucky? If he can condition himself better under TM's guidance, maybe things will be better next time.

Let's face it, he won't be flooded with alternative offers.
