Does this mean back to 5 3 2 then with Willis at RB and Webster, Martin and Johnson in the middle?

I'm surprised Yeovil would let Martin go if he's played all but three of their games. They can't rate Jordan Clarke that highly can they?

Hasn't Clarke played all bar five of our games? It's how you look at things and the other way of looking at Martin is he's recently been frozen out the first team picture at yeovil.

A bit like Clarke here.

So a win-win all round... you'd hope.

I think it'd have to be as we were Saturday with Martin just replacing Hines, Webster on the bench again.

Today is like Christmas for me...finally we are rid of that useless twat! Poor Yeovil! Good to have Martin back in again too! Just a goalkeeper and centre mid now?!

Funny re; Jordan Clarke similar was said about Cyrus Christie who now he is with a proper manager (at club level), playing football that suits him he is regarded as a bit of a star by the Derby faithful.

What we should be discussing is despite bringing in something approaching 3million quid recently and now being "cash positive" to quote Tim Fisher, we have to let a player go to bring one in.

Sorry if it upsets you if people are talking about footballers and actual football ON THE PITCH for a few minutes and it doesn't fit into your agenda. You forgot to mention Waggott too

Fucking hell Rupert. You don't have to fear that if Sisu don't get mentioned every other post it means people love them or have forgot they exist.

I liked Martin and was disappointed when we missed out on him when he went to Birmingham. Would be very happy to see him return though as thought he was a very good player for us and would add a lot to our defence.

As for Clarke, whilst I agree with Otis, one defender coming in and two effectively going out (one through a loan and one through a months injury) does seem a bit counter productive. But I do think the time has probably come for Clarke to try something a bit different.

I would suggest something in an administrative office role or a postman

I wonder if there has been some sort of fall out, as he seemed to just disappear randomly didn't he?

Nice to see that Paul Marston (I assume its him) is as balanced as ever from the comments section.

If he does go he should be given credit for working his way out of the 'bomb squad' last year (a ridiculous scenario created by Pressley I might add).

Thought he had a good season last year.. but another player that plays in many positions but hasn't really mastered one of them.

I think this is very positive. I hated Clarke. Cant believe hes been here so long. You can count how many good games he had on one hand (and have at least 3 spare fingers). I think this is a clear sign Pressley has dropped the 5-3-2. He had previously said he sees Willis as a right back. Martin will give us an extra aerial threat as well.

In my opinion we need experienced players added to our squad just to stay up, Jordan Clarke is no superstar but has experience and can play in a number of positions. It's okay signing Aaron Martin but imo it leaves us short at right back, be okay if someone else is brought in. And as for sisu they don't run the playing side of things so why mention them in this, strikes me it is you who has a phobia in them.

I was never a big fan of Clarke but have to stay he was good last season. I'm not sure why people are complaining about "like for like". You swap something, i.e. your car, if you think you're going to get something better. Presumably, Pressley thinks Martin is better. I know Clarke has played everywhere but he seems to be a jack of all trades and a master of none to me. I'm not too bothered about him leaving to be honest.

He did say that, but now he has said the following; Pressley confirmed: “I now see him as a central defender, especially with the three because he’s adapted really well to that. "

Agreed. SP says that he sees Willis as a right back in a four or right centre back in a three. Will eventually mature to play centre in a back four in my humble opinion.....

Let's be brutally honest, despite his 'best season ever' last year Jordan Clarke is a horrific footballer and always has been. Whereas Aaron Martin did well for us during his loan spell and has performed well at a higher level. It also gives us added physicality eh Otis

I also hope Phillips gets a real go now, for me he's just as talented as Haynes.

A horrific footballer? Erm, nope. My mums a horrific footballer.

Might be good for him to move on, even if it's for a bit. Not a massive fan.

I don't think Clarke is anywhere near as bad as people make out, I'd rather have him than Webster

SP - "I spoke with Jordan about his recent limited opportunities in the first team and obviously he is somebody that wants regular football. We came to a mutual agreement that the best option for both parties would be for him to go out on loan to give him a better opportunity to get that. It has been a mutually beneficial arrangement between ourselves and Yeovil Town in that we have been able to bring Aaron here while at the same time allow Jordan Clarke to go in the opposite direction in order to try and secure more regular first team football."

Indeed. Very happy if that is the case. There is talk of another 2 coming in as well. If they both quite beefy too it will surely just prove that this wasn't a strong squad like some have suggested and that there were indeed real inadequacies.

Let's see who he brings in. Be very interesting to see if they are more physical types of players.

Well perhaps these signings will see us go from competing for Play-offs to nailed on promotion. If we bring in a cm I might just lose my shit.
