Today was always going to be a tough game. Preston are not the model team we can play well against. Their style, agression and intention is somewhat different to what we face week in week out. I thought a win, however we got it would be great. As it turned out we very nearly lost.
We played well enough but were matched by Preston, and their breakaway's were difficult to handle. McFazdean was missed in defence today, so I think MR's got that bit wrong. Moore has been very good in goal but there he is suspect when it's on the floor or angled away from him? Today he could have been caught out several times but for Ched Evans and others poor finishing.
It was a tough penalty to give away, and not entirely the fault of Dabo. We are sorely missing the right support for Gyokeres, and I'm hoping Godden will be back sooner rather than later. Tavaries scored a wonder goal that saved our skins today, but then that's football. It was just about deserved overall, and that point will be crucial in the deciding table come the playoffs. Once again though, never say never, keep going and you deserve what you get. Well done to the boys today. A well earned week to regroup and go again with several home games to come in the next round of fixtures. Look what happened to rivals today....many still yet to play each other too. This is far from over, and I'm firmly of the beleif we can make the playoffs. This is one great ride MR's is taking us on.

Not sure on Fadz being dropped for Rose was the wrong call, Archer and Johnson both have good pace so for me it's the right call to switch Rose in for them.

Moore has been superb all season. Not sure about these weaknesses you mention, bar the Andre Gray goal v QPR, I'm not sure he could do a whole lot about any others (Bagan v Cardiff, KWP v Southampton, any more I'm missing).

Tavares scoring is great news and I'm made up for the lad, but the pessimist Cov fan in me looks towards goals that Ponticelli and the like scored and I can't get excited just yet, but he does look like a real talent from the minimal time he's had on the pitch. I don't think he should be awarded a starting berth just yet, I would rather utilise his power and pace later on in games against a more fatigued defense. I fear that should he start a game, he may be marshalled out by an experienced defender and the last thing I want is a below par performance from him, and the inevitable fans turning on him.

A point is great today, Preston are not an easy team to play against. Onwards and upwards!

Dabo can perhaps learn from Blackburn v QPR. Blackburn striker running into penalty area with free shot at keeper. QPR defender jumps back to avoid clipping strikers heels and conceding penalty. Result Blacburn strikers puts in good shot but keeper makes very good save.

Sometimes just trust your keeper rather than give away a stupid penalty.

Exactly what Oggy said on CWR after the game. A keeper has more chance of making a save from open play than a pen.

I agree. There was still so much more the striker had to do to score. So I was really annoyed by Dabo’s foul/sending off/penalty just as we gained an advantage barely a minute earlier. What the hell was he thinking? It reminded me of all the silly penalties we gave away last season. Plus this is the second time where he’s gotten a straight red. If Kane did something like this I think he’d likely be banished to the bench for good, but I think MR seems to give Dabo a longer leash sometimes.

Like the sentiment of the post but struggling to see how you are finding fault with Moore who has been fantastic - kept us in two games in a matter of days. Oggy is in the commentary box every week and he hasn’t picked up on these weaknesses.

Didn’t he take a knock soon after coming on perhaps that didn’t help

He did also take a really bad tackle on his ankle almost as soon as he came on. I thought he might have to go off and maybe he should have.

Dabo and Hyam at fault. The striker started running from his own half and yet again our two ball watching and not tracking back.

Dabo obviously not fit and as said previously had taken a stamp on his foot minutes before.

Striker just ran passed both our players and this was easily avoided if Hyam had seen him earlier getting the run on Dabo and intercepted.

Very unfair on Hyam as for 86 mins he’d played very well defensively, breaking up play and cutting out attacks.

But you’re always judged on errors and this was a clear one.

Hamer (had he not been booked earlier) would have taken the man out near the halfway line, but - already on a yellow - couldn't afford to take one for the team.

Hamer is a player that takes a card for the good of the team but there's only so many he can take and he cannot cover for them all.All players have the same responsibility.

Not really taking one for the team when it was his own awful pass that created the opportunity in the first place. Not to mention the booking he got was for a completely needless, moronic challenge on the halfway line.

The majority of his bookings are pointless

Yep, hamer with a ridiculous and needless yellow earlier in the game meaning he couldn't bring their guy down when he needed to. At some point hamer needs to grow up. 11 bookings in Feb is absolutely ridiculous

I agree... If he took one for the team 11 times this season, then fine... But most are bloody stupid ones, yet does not learn!
