A (soon to be) Ex-Football club? (2 Viewers)

So with a the fixtures about to come out for the new season and the players about to return to pre-season training where are we at?

So far, we have a painfully small squad which is largely made up of home-grown teenagers.
We have a manager who it is not clear even has a contract with the club.
We have no assistant manager who has been made redundant.
We allegedly have no physio who it is believed has left the club.
We have a transfer embargo which prevents us from signing any players which has been in place for months and shows no sign of ending.
We have lost around 7 players since last season with at least another 5 players (including our best players) likely to go.
We have two senior strikers at the club, one who is rumoured to be leaving and is totally useless anyway.
We have widespread redundancies planned among the club's non-playing staff.
We have not paid our rent on the Ricoh for at least 3 months and risk being expelled from the stadium we play in.
We have failed to submit any accounts to the Football League for many months.
The club's owners promised a local chairman, future investment and a partnership with the fans but nothing has materialised.
Representatives of the club's owners have recently threatened to liquidate the club.
The club shop is being closed down.
The club's owners have told fans to be "realistic" and not expect any future promotion attempts.

Without wishing to sound like a harbinger of doom, if you join up the dots in my opinion it is only possible to draw one conclusion - Coventry City is slowly being dismantled and will shortly cease to exist.

SISU are systematically turning off the life support machine - bit by bit - one week its selling off the players, the next its closing the shop, the next it's sacking Steve Harrison and not replacing him. There is only one way this is headed and it is the end of our club. To paraphrase Monty Python we are soon to be "an ex-football club".

So, the question has to be, what can we do to prevent this? At the very least SISU should be forced to put us into admin rather than presiding over our death. As it stands they are not even giving us the chance to survive.

I 'm afraid all you write is true and your presumptions must be close now to coming true. The Higgs trust and Council will quite rightly blow out the hedge fund vermins attempts to bribe them and they will execute the club once and for all by refusing to fund any overspend meaning the club cannot go to the FL and promise to meet their obligations and run solvently for a full season.

Sorry I don't reach the same conclusions as you. We have just suffered the single biggest loss of income for over a decade, of course we are downsizing (shops and staff).

The only real issue is the transfer embargo, everything else (lack of signings, rent not pad, lack of investment,etc. ) all comes from the accounts not being submitted. I agree it's very worrying, and needs to be sorted ASAP but it really is the only issue. Unfortunately, the only thing we as fans can do to fix the financial mess we are in is to spend money on the club. Buy a ST, a shirt, a subscription to SBP or anything else that can make us a viable business.

There is no white knight, get that into your head. Protests or refusal to buy tickets will just bring about our demise quicker, Hoffman, the Chinese, whatever are a fairy story with no proof or hope of coming in. Support the club we've got and help turn it around.

It's all we can do.

In tough economic times for many, committing to a season of more SISU misery is not priority at the moment. I'm braced to buy an ST but there has not been one Iota of encouragement coming out of CV6 to push me over the edge. That must be the same for about 3000 others I anticipate.

I've not renewed my season ticket yet. I did receive a begging phone call from some bloke at the club asking why I haven't renewed yet, I told him it's a lot of money to throw down the drain when we might not even have a club come the start of the season. I also told him the product I get for my hard-earned is dreadful and will only get worse as we are STILL under a transfer embargo. I applaud those who have renewed but in these tough times my money is better off elsewhere at the moment

Again, this season I will be handing over about 5k, to support CCFC at as many away matches as I can get to.

Not giving SISU 1p, yet still support MY team at 15-20 matches.

Clingan, Platt, Eastwood and Ireland have left and Keogh, Cranie, McPake and ROD are likely to leave and possibly Bigi too. Oh and Cody has come in. Done of top pf head so might have overlooked someone. However you wish to paint it we are in big trouble next season unless things change drastically very soon.

Ok, players left Clingan, Nimely, Norwood,Platt, Eastwood, Herman and Ireland. I would sadly expect Keogh, Cranie, Bigi and McPake to leave. I would also expect ROD to go but he is no loss whatsoever.

Despite being a meagre student, I forked out over £250 on half a dozen away games last season. We drew one (Watford) and lost the rest-and quite frankly, it hurt watching us struggle so badly because of these muppets. I don't think I can stomach forking out yet more to watch us do worse against even worse teams.
