A question that confuses me (1 Viewer)

The number one reason SISU say they are not willing to negotiate with ACL about the return to the Ricoh is because of match day extras such as drinks and food. Now I was under the impression CCFC was the first to introduce the 'cashless' system and you top-up your card to buy stuff. My question is that isn't that sysem controlled bythe club? You can top-up at the club shop and buy shirts, match day programmes, drinks and others with that card. If that system is controlled by the club what is their gripe? Is it that not everyone uses the card so ACL get the cash?

No. It was introduced by ACL (I think possibly when Fletcher was there)

I thought it was a good idea apart from the fact you had to bring cash along so you could get it loaded onto your card. So you had to queue twice. To get the money loaded on and then for your food. If there had been an online top-up system then I think it would have been great.

Yeah was supposed to make things quicker, but didn't.

Now if it had been made as easy as possible to credit a card online before going, could have worked better.

It did start that way didnt it but stopped. It used to annoy me that you had to use cash to buy a programme though which seemed a bit mental.
Those people with the backpacks dispensing beer - now that was a great idea that died too quickly.

Thanks guys. I thought it came in earlier. So who or why was it changed? Was it RR that allowed ACL the licencing rights for the food and drinks? If it was not in place when CCFC entered the Ricoh but it was in place when SISU took over who signed the contract?

I always thought it was mental that there was no cash points inside. I'm a forgetful bugger and the amount of times I found myself with only a card and no way to get food was ridiculous.

I suppose NFC payments these days makes the whole thing moot.

I still want Brody's promise of free WiFi and in game stats app though.
