If our wonderful owners suddenly decided to have a go and stumped up a £5m transfer kitty (yeh I know) would you trust SP to spend the money?

I would stunned if anyone spent 5 million in this league and still screwed it up.
I would trust him. However and this will lead to much abide no doubt I would rather AT was picking the players for him.

Brendan Rodgers last season said of Tottenham (who has just spent £100 million after the sale of Bale)........"If you spend that sort of money, you should be challenging for the title".

He has spent more than that this season !!

I wouldnt trust SP with it.

Yep
I think he can pick a player at this level.
I think he was the first to identify DMC, destroyed this league
He signed Muphy
He signed Cody (quality at this level)
He got Norwood and Nimley on loan
It is believed that he scouted the likes if gunner, baker, Keogh.
Signed Adam Barton (debatable one)
Tried to sign James Collins

His shite signings were

The two CB's and Reese Brown, Callam Ball, Chris Dunn. (Debatable as only a back up)

So he seems to have an eye for decent division three standard players.

Compare that to SP's signings

Whether you trust him or another manager the only true way of finding out is by letting him. That's why they say owning a club is the quickest way a billionaire becomes a millionaire. If it doesn't work out you get rid and do the same again unless you can find a manager with the midas touch. Trouble with our manager, who ever that is you have to work within the constraints of Sisu.

The trouble with our manager is that if he happened upon a great player on Sign a great player day and that player had a big sign hanging over him saying 'great player', and we all knew he was a great player... Pressley still wouldn't spot him.

So what you are saying is if (I know, a bloody great IF) our owners gave SP a big wad you wouldn't want him to spend it cos you don't trust him. Weird

I know

I personally think that SP would do OK now that their scouting system has got bigger. Surely one of them must have spotted some good talent.

Saying that would this team drag them down need to get rid of all the deadwood and start again next season.

Shame they wouldn't invest that sort of money if they did we could have kept the nucleus of last seasons team strengthened the defence and been top of the league.
For all the Football I have seen this season I haven't seen a decent team in this league it really is poor.

Then we could have forgot the rest of the bullshit that is going around and enjoyed the Football.

Joy had two priorities
Promotion and break even point.
I think there was an unspoken third to do with ACL.
I have no idea how many of the last 10 promoted teams from league one were at break even point?

Stu you normally know these type of things any idea?

i would trust him. all the players hes bought in have been free. most decent players before this season wouldnt have come anywhere near us due to all the turmoil surrounding us. ive said before that at our level you have to get the players through the door to have a proper look at them so it can be a bit of a gamble as such. with cash to spend im sure he would get the right players in that are at least proven at our level

Well I suppose I did ask... Hadn't seriously expected anyone to say yes though. I bet he's jealous of the millions all the other L1 managers are spending.

Probably about as jealous as all the other L1 managers are of him because he has SISU for emoloyers.

he would have a lot more fans if he had better players and started climbing the table. who sold the players from last season, i dont think it was him. we did excellent last season and should have been building on it this season

So that they can ridicule other fans who have a different opinion to them.

Jeez, paranoia! I was hoping to hear some views from those who are pleased with his transfer dealings. Perhaps they have seen something I haven't?

Percy, in case you hadn't noticed this a forum. A place where discussion takes place. My opinion is that SP wouldn't know a player if he tripped over one, you clearly differ on this. I was interested to know what other people thought which is after all the purpose of every thread. Why are you being such a tool?
