If they haven't already. Can't recall anything, but pretty sure that no-one has asked if we are only casting our eye over managers out of a job for our vacant role and not looking at any manager under contract because we simply cannot afford to do so.

Moves the goalposts considerably if they are considering managers in jobs too.

When was the last time we actually got in a manager already under contract?

I dont think I have seen one in my years of supporting them.

If we look to managers currently employed then realistically who would be in that list?

I know he was already at Colchester, but was his contract not up?

Of course we can't, but Fisher won't want the fans to know that.

My guess is we will end up with someone who is currently out of work & cheap. When unvailing him Fisher will state that we looked at managers both in and out of employment but we have got the best man.

Exactly.

That's why I am surprised no-one has tried to put him on the spot.

I doubt if he would give a straight answer anyway. Someone told me that we had approached the Oxford manager whoever he is but if this has credibility I do not know.

I don't think Boothroyd had completed a full year when he came here. I wonder which spell was shorter for him.

Fairly sure the main 4 we are looking at are Wise, Ince, Blackwell and Dyche, but they are also thinking about Dickov.

Lets put this into perspective.

We don't even look at players who are in contract as we can't afford a fee, so why would we pay for a Manager when there are so many out of contract.

So you are saying that the Oxford manager couldn't have had a interview for the job because he's already in a job even though the rumour mill is very much that he has indeed had an interview with us?

The only reason it is being discussed is because at the sane time I posted on here that soneone told me the guy had been interviewed (not something I took very seriously) someone else started a thread saying some twitter account started saying the same.

His odds have apparantly been slashed.

Still seems an odd choice so I remain sceptical.

It's some Oxford guys tweeting.

They are saying Wilder has been approached and interviewed. Apparently someone at the club is either related to or knows the Coventry City Ladies manager. Whether she would know anything or not who knows. Sounds a bit tentative to say the least.

I do like the sound of him though. A young hungry manager may be right up our street. We have been for the big names before and it has got us nowhere.

Well let's just hope he doesn't need time to gel, doesn't cancel training sessions , doesn't turn up for work drunk, oh yeah and he can't be over weight and ever say er or umm.

Just checked the odds and he is in at 2nd fav for the job 9/2

Interesting though is that I couldn't see Kevin Blackwell on there anymore.

Boothroyd was under contract with Coleshester

Does this make you 2 years old? Little bit too young to be suing a PC!?

And I find that worrying. Sounds like they have stopped taking bets on him.

Surprised Shaw is still 5/1. Would have thought his odds would have gone right out.

I think the bookies are just playing it safe Otis, as caretaker managers often get the jobs in situations like ours.

Chris wilder now the fav for the job, his odds have gone right down since late last night.
