I was 7 in 1960 and I would say that picture predates that.

I can't make out what the model of the car is in the background parked up outside what became the apprentices living accomodation which may give a clearer indication of when the photo was taken.

Anyone got an idea?

The big house on the corner was for the apprentices? I never knew that!

I stood down the front of the Sky blue terrace in those days. Only a few times in the West End, which was not an hospitable place for a 5ft teenage girl.

I stood at the front of the Sky Blue Terrace too. I did eventually move into the West End, when it went all seater I think. it made me think about watching Andy Blair from the Sky Blue Terrace who was my favourite player at the time…..but not sure if the timing is right for that!

This is the picture I was thinking about. Definitely no boxes in the Main Stand at that point

Highfield Road may have been old and some would say decrepid. But it was full of history.

Watched my first ever game from the Main Stand in 1980 vs Birmingham, second in the Sky Blue Stand vs Millwall in 1988 and apart from one game in the Kop vs Wimbledon in the Zenith Data Systems Cup, the rest of my entire time supporting Cov at Highfield Road was spent in the West Terrace. I did go into the Main Stand a few more times for reserve games but that was only because that was the only stand opened for those cold night games

In comparison, I can't help thinking the CBS is an overgrown cattle shed with its flat, uninspiring walls at the tops of the seats.

Back of the original West Terrace from Catherine Street

My Dad was born and grew up in the third or fourth house on the left in Catherine Street (don't think that's him in the picture) and I moved into the same house when I went to Cov Poly (as was) in 1984. Dad used to kick a ball with the City players in the street in the 50s and then became friends with them through the Diamond club - Brian Nicholas, Lol Harvey. Not sure it quite works like that nowadays

Snowball fights. That’s what I remember one year. I think this photo is about 1980.

First went in here v Everton on the final day of the season in May 1985 - my first Cov game. Was thinking about memories and one that stands out is being in the spill-over bit in the middle for the 3-0 v Villa on Boxing Day 1992 - if we would have kicked-off half an hour later fog might have prevented the game being played. Great memories, thanks for the photo.

Brings back a lot of good memories. First game for me a 0-2 defeat v Liverpool in a League cup replay in 1977.
Season tickets from 1992-2005 and closure. Loved the place but it was structurally deteriorating and outdated and very rusty by the time we left. Nothing stays the same
