So we could call our game off against Burton.

We have 4 players called up for international duty. Armstrong, Morris and the 2 Welsh youngsters.

Sheffield Utd have called off their game against Colchester for exactly these reasons.

Is it a financial decision to go ahead with the game as we are on Sky?

Is it a mistake to play the game being as we really can't put a competitive team out?

Or is it wise to get the game out of the way , heading off a future fixture congestion.

Me?I think we should call the bloody game off and play Burton when we have a team capable of beating them.

Don't they have to be first team players? Morris, Armstrong and Thomas(at a push) are, Harries isn't. Not too sure though

And only Armstrong starts.....

3 of Sheffield Utds 4 players all started last week.

So to conclude then no mistake and we are right to play the game and take sky money given limited impact the
international call ups have on the starting xi!

I read somewhere that youth loans don't count so that rules out Armstrong and maybe Morris

I thought they had to be full call ups to the senior squad but I could be wrong, i.e U19 call ups don't count.

You could be right, I know for sure short term loans don't count. Don't know about youth loans.

this is the counter side to loaning players you've seen play for the england youth sides can hardly say we didnt know this would happen

Also Harries is only on the stand-by list - and probably wouldnt count as he hasn't made first team appearance yet

I seem to remember it's not much revenue, if any at all for the away side. U19s upwards count towards the total on international duty. Unsure on if they have to have played a professional game though.

Don't care if we only have one regular missing, its still one person we can't use for a game against a top placed team. Any excuse we have to get the game called off, if it means we can pick from a full squad when rescheduled, would suit me. It won't happen though, Sky money talks.

So Mogga did try and postpone match.

Ricketts and Reda both on standby-so don't count and as rightly pointed out on this thread, Yoof loans don't count.

At least Mogga again coming out of this with a bit of nous!
