I watched TM on Saturday for a while and you just can't help but be impressed by his whole demeanour.
Pre season friendly in the sun, looking calm and casual in his trousers and white club polo. Calmly giving instructions, thinking things through. On the pitch at half time talking to the players coming on with passion each one listening intently, clear for all to see the amount of respect 'the gaffer' has from his players

Such a welcome change to the attitude and non stop clapping and shouting from the suit clad predecessor. We have a great opportunity this season, when this man gets a small squad together, his class is going to take us places.

So impressed by him..

hehe its preseason, its mandatory to be unrealistic in my expectations. At least 2 Wembley visits this year, JPT final and playoff final. don't think we'll get much past the 4th round in the league cup.

We still have a shit squad irrespective of what Mowbray says to them or how he carries himself. 5 new players needed who can dominate at League 1 level before you should be getting too excited.

Not arguing the point, but does anyone have the pre-season odds for last year to compare with how things finished? I for one would guess that the bookies probably thought Orient would end up nearer the top than they did?

Selected odds here, Orient were 8th favourites for the league.

Sheffield United - are the favourites (6/1)
Preston North End, 8/1,
Peterborough United are 9/1.
Leyton Orient are currently 8th favourites to win the league at 14/1

2 years is too long in my opinion, had we not lost and beaten 5 teams who finished below us last season and remember we finished 17th we would have made the off play-offs. A play spot and a year challenging the top plots is an absolute minimum.

I think a play off spot is a realistic ambition this season (as long as we get a couple of strikers in) yet it is also true that we may get off to a bad start and be playing catch up, have a string of injuries or just not gel as a team and find ourselves nervously looking over our shoulders come the final few games. Nothing is certain in football...as others have said Orient on paper were last season more of a promotion seeking side rather than a relegation team. For me this season I want to see progress in the team and club as a whole. I expect a top half finish, dream of a top 6 spot and fantasise about being champions.

I think there is an outside chance of sneaking a play off spot if we get a couple more quality signings and they all gel together etc etc but its by no means guaranteed. I think a top 10 finish is more likely and i wouldn't be unhappy with that.
