With Pompey potentially facing League expulsion before the season ends, does anyone know the ramifications for the table as a result? We're one of the few sides who dropped points against them and I've a feeling we'd make up a good few points on those above us.

Would it work like this?... wouldn't the points stand- Pompey would be ejected from the league not demoted a division based on points deduction?

They've been told if the supporters trust doesn't take over then they will be expelled from the league.

League rules say that if a team is expelled before the start of the play-offs then their results are struck from the record; which is what I mean rather than going into admin and relegated as a result of that.

Yep the points would be deducted. Works in a way but means one less game to play.

So would we get the 2 extra points that we dropped or would we lose the point we got?

Based on above... lose the point... but I guess the thought is.. those above, around us- probably beat Pompey and so they would lose 3 pts etc....

Guess we would lose the point that we got. However, I suspect that other teams would lose out more.

A fair few teams have beaten pompey this season. This could have very good results for our promotion push!

Have any teams played pompey twice yet?

its almost worth losing on purpose when we play them at their place, that way we wont lose points when they fold:thinking about::facepalm:

Swindon and Notts County have played Portsmouth twice and picked up 6 points. Yeovil have 3 points from their two games.

Maybe Crewe will go into administration and we'll get to Wembley

My interpretation of what I heard is that it'll only drag on & on so will have no effect on this seasons results.
What the FL have said is that a club cannot start consecutive seasons in administration. So they have up to some point before the start of next season to sort themselves out - or be expulled (is there such a word?)? Expelled? Expullificated? Exploded? Yes - I like the last one best...exploded

I believe they are getting kicked out of the FL at the end of the season if the supporters do not buy the club

Does anyone else feel sorry for the Pompey fans? I couldn't imagine a scenario where that would happen here, it'd be awful!

I feel for them...I know loads of them. They just feel battered & helpless...resigned to zero optimism for the future. BUT they did have a few good times along the way & were all chuffed & a little sneering when the succession of potential "moneybags" took over. I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth?

I think it all goes pear shaped when owners sell little bits of this & that making the club unattractive. A few parallels there!

Doesn't bear thinking about happening to us.

In a word no. Will never forget that game at Highfield Rd, but I'm sure this has been covered in the god knows how many pages on the Portsmouth what on earth thread.

I remember that also... but I don't think we can chastise all Pompey fans on the basis of a few louts who thought it wise to kick off... they were yobs and n'er do weller's.. lets not tar all with the same brush.
