We have our differences, whether or or not we are old enough to remember 1977. But one Sunderland fan's response to this interview with a Coventry supporter (Ian Davidson, prominent in the London and international branches) may help us put them behind us:
".... Had Sunderland done the necessary against Everton, which was a game that meant nowt to them, but we couldn’t muster the required fight, then none of it would have made any difference anyway. I’m over it, let's just hope them all the best as they are a proper club with proper supporters and then stuff them on Saturday for the good of SAFC’s promotion drive"
I wouldn't quarrel with a word of that ... and Ian's interview is a treat
Must admit that our Who are You? interviews tend to run and run ... I always feel that if someone has agreed to do one, its not for me to chop out chunks to make the piece shorter/more reader-friendly. Maybe I should just ask fewer questions. But it's a series I am proud of and I thought Ian did it brilliantly.
