Don't recognise front row far left, the two in the middle between Shaw and Hall, or the one next to Oggy (not Hedman). Any ideas?

I don't think he was that bad.. in fact not a bad manager for us, only that Richardson was a crap and reckless chairman and cause of the clubs downfall.

No, he was. He had more money than anyone else in our history and got us relegated. Won't disagree on Richardson. He was a ******* ****.

Strachans weakness was his poor defensive signings, apart from Roland Nilsson our defence was consistently abysmal. Even our best striker Dion Dublin was one of our best defenders.

You seem to have forgot the good days of keane and the great home games we enjoyed? I can think of a lot worse city managers

Fair point .. but was this not the start of the sign of the times for every club to spend big to stay in the Prem.

He was not the only one.

Sooner or later we would have relegated. It was on the cards after so many near misses. Laws of probability I'm afraid.

The only problem I had was he was indeed useless when it came to trying to get us back into the Prem again.

No, I haven't forgotten. They were good days but ultimately led to our down fall. Great players, but players we couldn't afford. We lost HR because of them and Richardson.

You made some good valid points there.. can't argue with that but can you really blame Strachan for that as it was Richardson who was in charge of running the club and it's finances. He was just the manager and we did play bloody good football under him.

Richardson didn't help obviously but Stratchan just wasn't a very good manager. We were doubly cursed.

My opinion of Strachan is that he is a fantastic coach, but a poor manager.

Strachan is/was a good coach with younger players, but managed to fall out with plenty of the senior pros in his time - and once that happened there was no way back for them. That makes him a poor manager. We were always destined to go down at some stage, especially when the serious money hit the Prem. Richardson sold us all out, and pocketed the money at the same time - unforgiveable.

Okay, here's a Strachan signings quiz. Who can name these players Strachan signed during his time here.

We went down because we let McAllister and Keane go at the same time. I'm not sure how much Strachan can be held responsible for that as don't know the detail, but it was suicide by the club to allow both to leave.

I dont think strachs was terrible there are plenty worse managers we have had. At the time there was a lot of clubs spending alot of money and if we didnt we would have gone down anyway. Some of his signings we clearly suspect but i bet no different to alot of clubs throughout the country.

He also did okay for Southampton and is currently doing well for Scotland.

He did ok at Saints for 18 months, and then cleared off when he saw what was going to happen next - they got relegated - learnt from his experiences you might say. Also, was a complete disaster a Middlesbrough (sat up in the stands when Southgate was still manager). He is doing well for Scotland, and this reinforces the point that he is a good coach, not a good manager.

In my opinion the injury to Steve Froggatt was crucial.

This was the first team I properly remember. I would've been about 10 at the time. Probably the best team I've ever supported as well, maybe I am the curse!
