We’ve never managed to win 9 games out of 10 in our history until Frank Lampard turned up and did it twice in a year.

How wrong I was about his appointment. He’s a spectacular manager and we’re lucky to have him.

Now let’s beat Boro, go 10 points clear of second and make it 10 out of 11.

It's crazy to think the first 9/10 run was put down to luck by many on here

Talk about how the high line was gonna come back to haunt us and was naive etc

We thought we wouldn’t manage without Rudoni and then we start yesterday without the the top scorer in the league, our most consistent scorer over the last 2 seasons and the best player in the squad and we still win the game
Gosh!!!

It was mainly people still struggling to accept Lampard. Surely there is nobody in that camp anymore?

It did, away from home. That's indisputable.

Fortunately that's been sorted this season.

I didn't think it could happen without some additional pace in the back line but they've managed it so fair play.

I also think, if Grimes got injured, reverting to a 5 is something we'd have to consider on our travels.

If we didn't play high line last year it wouldn't be perfected this year

We have no replacement for grimes. Maybe could try torp there possibly

Fair play to King. The appointment was a major coup for us and a masterstroke.

Maybe, maybe not.
Personally Id have stuck with 5 away but even if we'd won the games we lost, we'd have still played Sunderland in the play offs so it wouldn't have made a great deal of

Not sure. Personally, don't think we've got anyone capable of deputising. Torp would probably be the best of a bad lot (as in bad for that role)

Possibly Allen. Would have to do more ticking it over rather than progressive passes though

I think the long term league form under lampard (45 games ) has us on 89 points

Be a catastrophic turn of events for us not to be promoted from this point

I'm one of his biggest fans, but he gave the ball away cheaply 2 or 3 times yesterday when he came on.
I wouldn't trust him in that role.

Well we know first thand how things can change in November for rest of season. We have mounted playoff charges a few times after being near bottom. Nottingham forest were in relegation zone at Christmas and won playoffs.

So a downturn in form can happen too ala Walsall last year

But things are changing as I'm genuinely not too worried. We can afford the odd loss as long as we bounce back. We're gonna do this

With regard to this, rumours on other threads that we have a midfielder lined up for January.
Perhaps someone capable of playing this role?

Possibly. Would make sense. Rudoni Eccles and bta can play advanced position

Torp Eccles Allen Andrews can play in-between

If we get a midfielder would imagine it's for grimes position

Feel like we might only get some wingers in though. I'm sure lampard will put pressure on king for more though

It sounds like we've got 2 lined up, seems a winger, wonder if there's a versatile midfielder who has a couple of strings to his bow including being able to deputise for Grimes?
I'm not expecting to see more than a couple coming in.

You mean the winger from Mjallby? The Glimt player we were tracking was a CB, everyone is saying a CB is not a priority so we won't do it but I wouldn't be surprised personally, if we rate him we'll revisit it and deals with these Scandi clubs will be easier to do this time of year.

So did Grimes, to be fair. I'm not sure any of our players didn't have at least one pass that was either straight to one of their players, or was easily intercepted.

For whatever reason, they seemed to cope better with conditions than we did.

The question about bringing players in is do you strengthen or bring players in as cover? I think strengthen in which case a pacey CB would be good.

Don't think we'll see a CB personally, unless we have injury problems in that area.
Wolf hardly getting any minutes as it is
