Reasons for never going to MK:-

To put them out of business – very unlikely
To prevent more franchising – the football authorities have made sure it can’t happen again
To ram home their immorality to them - everybody knows the history and that it wasn’t right (despicable in fact), but maybe they’ve served their time after all these years

It seems to me that the only practical effect of boycotting their ground would be to make you feel better about yourself, and at the expense of other innocent football fans.

“Daddy, why does everybody hate us and why do no away fans ever come to our matches?“
“Ah well son, you see we are a nasty franchise club so we shouldn’t really be here, and we deserve to be punished forever. I hope you’ll teach that to your kids too when the time comes”.

Moral absolutism makes no sense to me in this. Enjoy the day.

A winnable game down the road too!

I think Grimmer will make a manager one day, presented well on TV tonight & is on social media drumming up support later on with a catchy hashtag.

No, the ticket prices remember? Ooh I can’t afford it - they should have charged a tenner then we could have switched the tie to Wembley and filled it.

Ha ha, if I was down with the kids I've off kicked it off on twitter.

Fair play to whoever has, like I suggest back the lads. There a good honest likeable group who try and manager who spoke brilliantly and passionately about his group of players.

It's warming for a change and they deserve the backing of a real passionate supportive following.

Am I missing something? Minimum away allocation at fa cup matches is 15 percent, 4500 of their stadium. Why do we assume they're going to give us a third of their ground?

Some don't go to away games, some don't go to any games, some won't go because it's MK for various reasons

Hmm. I'm slightly disappointed tbf. I wanted a big draw, cash in and concentrate on the league.
Now we have been handed a winnable game which I hope we can sail through and have the big team draw in the next round.
Either way the sooner we can cash in and get out so we concentrate on the league the better. I just don't want the players heads turned by all the attention
and keep focus on promotion.

Obviously I can't guarantee what they will do, but their ground is well suited to accommodating a very large away contingent. We took a lot there a few years back (a bore draw if I recall correctly), and we still had room to spare in the top tier.

You, Tony and Last enjoying your pathetic little gloating giggle over Cov fans wanting to support their team? Massive difference between going to support a franchise rugby team who have moved into your city and supporting your own team, desperate for cash, in a cup tie where we get 45 percent of the money.

Simple, money. If they only expect around 10,000 home fans (above average for them this season) then they maximise their takings by opening up more to away fans.

I absolutely agree that everyone who goes should enjoy the day, Christ knows every city fan here deserves a good day out after the crap we've had to put up with.

However the rest of your post makes little sense to me unless you're trying to justify something to yourself that you're not entirely comfortable with.

My choice, which I know puts me in a very small minority, is never to directly put money in the pockets of those who own MK Dons by going to a game there. (Using your analogy, if you're continuing to make a profit from something that's wrong, then I guess I can't see how you can have 'served your time'.)

I know that my individual action will have no impact on MK Dons, and I'm not here to virtue-signal or try to convince anyone else to do the same.

Regardless, I don't see how my belief hurts anyone other than me, because I'm sure it'll be a cracking day out. And I seriously doubt that MK Dons supporters will be crying to their dads because I'm not there!

Let's be honest here, you're never going to convince me that I should go, and I wouldn't dream of trying to tell anyone that they shouldn't.

What you're doing is exactly what you're accusing others of though, which is to try to make yourself feel better about it.

There's genuinely no need mate. Go. Enjoy. Win! Tell me about it later in the pub!

Well, would think it will be Saturday 27th Jan. Unless of course it is selected for TV, but I would very much doubt it. Not exactly a big draw is it.

I’ll be going to MK to support my team and will never set foot in the Ricoh to watch Wasps. Not sure what you’re going on about but it sounds suspiciously like bollocks to me.

Historically they've allowed and allocated for larger away followings given there limited support and vast amount of the stadium left unoccupied although it's not a given.

Wolves took nearly 9,000 in the league and Sheffield United 7,500 also. If demands are there they generally allow which is positive.

There highest attendance this season in the league is just over 11,000 when Northampton played. Generally there attendance is between 7,000-10,000.

They done it already have they? I'm no social media king.

They failed to hit the 10k for what ever reason, allocation maybe or fell short.

Let's give it a go see how many we can take and support the team.

* looks like wolves tried the #10k2MK..

Allocation I think. They took 8800.

Bearing in mind we took near 7000 having just the bottom tier, there is room, it depends on police etc. There hasn't been any problems at Coventry matches this season away and obviously no protests this year.

Agreed, but I'm not going to risk booking train tickets before the date is confirmed. I was close to booking train tickets for Wycombe, but then had a last minute thought about checking when the 4th round is due to be played 'just in case' we beat Stoke. I actually feel quite smart, for once, now!

Express and star reported 8,943 that day which would be great to beat that number.

Black and gold day of delight for Wolves fans at MK Dons

Yes we've taken large followings all season and packed L2 grounds without any reported issues and like you say no demonstrations so hopefully MK will be happy to supply the tickets to match the demand should it reach such a healthy figure.

No trouble there as such before too, only pockets of fans breaking on the pitch when Maguire scored the two late goals.

Only danger is the BBC ask for it to be part of there Sunday live programme at 2pm rather than a Saturday at 3pm

I'd be amazed if its televised given Newports and yeovils draw.
