Well you should have asked first!

I didn't say 'posters' I said 'people.' General City chat.

Last night my dad was straight in with 'well we should beat Peterborough on Friday.'

I think that win will have given Peterborough much renewed confidence after no wins in 8 games and with us really struggling to score goals I think this will be a very tough game for us.

Sky blue spectacled thinking it will always be. Wouldn't have it any other way.

On a serious note the three teams we play above us , Bradford, Millwall, and Gillingham are just massive 6 pointers.

Score early in any of them games pressure firmly on them. They will crumble.

Btw Gillingham on current form 9 points from last 9 games , also have lost their two most influential players for the season, Dack and Egan. Their tally over last nine games is one point more than us. We need to beat them at theirs hopefully an sky blue army 2000 plus. Pressure firmly on them.

Gillingham will be the ones dropping out the top 6, a continuation of their current form will see them struggling to get to 74 points.

They easily look look like the weak link and could be team to drop out the top 6.

lets see but ultimately we need to start winning games.

They lost Dack? I didn't know that. He is a very influential player for them for sure.

Most games at this level are tough, but it is one we should be confident going into. You probably couldn't have handpicked a better game for Good Friday tbh. Peterborough have nothing to play for, they are the second worse team in the division on form, only Doncaster worse than them and they have 6 first team players out on internationals.

And also do I not come under the class of people then?

Just thinking, as we play Peterborough at 7.45 on Friday we could well be 5 points behind Barnsley and down a place to 9th before we even kick off. Other games kick off at 3.

Could that have any negative impact on us in terms of confidence you think?

Barnsley are at home to Scunthorpe. A win would put them 5 points clear.

Rochdale play Southend. Rochdale are now suddenly just 2 points behind us and Southend 1.

Only a draw will have us still in 8th place. A win for either team will see them overtake us.

We obviously need to make sure that is temporary. Just wonder if it will deflate us any and put more pressure on. If Barnsley were to lose of course (come on JOB, do your stuff), then it might work as an incentive for us to get back into the top 6 come Friday night.

Bradford don't play until the following day. Home to Millwall, so a tough game for them.

Hes a top player, way too good for this level.

Yes he's been out for few weeks, and is supposed to be back in a few weeks but not in time for our visit.

That's a big boost them, cos he looked a really good player against us, despite the defeat for them.

I think we've blown it. With our form as poor as it is I just can't see us getting the points we need.

We've been saying this for week but the next 2 games are must wins. Anything less than 6 points and we can forget promotion. After those 2 games we start playing the teams battling for promotion.

In his post match interview TM talked about the lack of infrastructure at the club, in particular the fact that only 6 players are contracted beyond this Summer. I would imagine a common point of conversation among the players is "Where will you be next season?" Not good for team morale IMHO.

Aren't Mowbray and Venus now in charge of that? If its an issue shouldn't it have been dealt with last summer?

Yep. Think we've blown it too.

It's not being negative, it is simply based on:

Very poor form.

Not scoring enough ( just 3 goals in the last 6 games)

Not creating enough.

Not playing well enough.

Now being out of the top 6 and having 2 teams ahead of us.

Having some very tough games to come.

Needing to probably win at least 5 of our remaining 9 games and having other teams falter at the same time too.

Defensive injuries. Stokes out for another 2-3 games at least.

Peterborough are in dreadful form, they beat doncaster last match but doncaster have to be about the only team in the country in worse form than Peterborough.

Have to be targeting a win, they also have 5 or 6 players missing on international duty as well.

Two defining games coming up now and we are getting to that stage now when games become must wins, 6 points out of Peterborough and Colchester and we will make the play offs I reckon.

Agree with this, our defence looks a lot more solid now, (hopefully we will be able to cope without Stevens for a couple of games) and we will be forced to play a different formation in the next 2 games. Hopefully this will catch the opposition out. If we can win the next 2, things may look more positive.

And we have been now for months. Hasn't done us much good has it!

Maybe we should start not targeting games.

You have to say that if we are to get in the play offs we now have to become the 'form' team. And if we do this is exactly what you want to be at the end of the season. It is much better than just managing to hang in by scraping enough points together.

It is the form team that usually succeeds at Wembley.

Totally agree.

We need to be scoring a lot more than we are at the moment though for starters.

We didn't really look like winning on Saturday did we, but now we most certainly will indeed have to win 3 in a row and possibly 6 out of 9 games.

If you put your hand on your heart, can you honestly say we are capable of doing that?

We need the very minimum of 4 points from Peterborough and Colchester over Easter and see where we are then.

Didn't say we needed to win the next 3 in a row did I?

Where is the conflict in what I have said?

There are 9 games to go. We will need to win 3 in a row.

What part of that aren't you getting?

we might not need to win 3 in a row at all,you dont know how rivals results will go.

you have been negative for a month now, before that it was "this is a new cov" etc

stop going to extremes and posting rubbish

Oh and please tell Tony Mowbray to stop posting rubbish. He has said we need to win 6 more matches.

How extreme and rubbish is that?

If we need to win 6 out of 9, odds are that we need to win 3 in a row.

Using the Grimsby predictor link mentioned earlier, if you dont put any results in manually it bases it on current form...

That has us finishing 6th.

On current form?

How can we be finishing above Barnsley? That has to be wrong. They have won something like 12 out of 14 haven't they and are 6th.

Our current form is nowhere near that of Barnsley.

6 wisn out of 9 is no different to saying 40pts needed toa void relegation in prem, its not a exact science

maybe 5 will be enough, maybe 7 will be needed!

also if 9 games left

wlwwlwlww

there you have 6 wins without needing 3 in a row. so dont state that we have to have 3 in a row is all i am saying.

our current form is not as bad as giliingham and i would be surprissed if the rest above us is amazing. no one it seems is consistant, except wigan and possibly burton of late. still a lot of changes coming up in the top 8 yet.

Yes, agree.

Let's hope we can get our act together and start winning more games than just the odd one here and there.

No-one be more delighted than me if that happens.

i do believe we are a different side this year, TM has given me more belief. The last few months have been disappointing tbh. however, i still genuinely believe we can sneak a playoff spot. time will tell, but lets kick it off with a win in front of the cameras on Friday.

Nobody knows what will happen in the next 9 games but based on the current table and based on current form, only the 6th play-off spot is currently up for grabs. And there are 6-8 teams competing for that one spot. So the odds we will reach the play-offs are against us, and even then we have just a 25% chance of promotion. Can we realistically expect a massive upturn in form from us and a massive down turn in form from our rivals?

If you have a 25% chance of promotion when entering the play offs, it means you've got as good a chance as anybody else.

we have been on a bad run so i would imagine odds are more likely that we will start winning finally than continue losing?

1 way to look at it anyway
