Coventry City fans hurl abuse at Tim Fisher at Chesterfield

The video was filmed while they waited for a train at Chesterfield train station
www.coventrytelegraph.net

After losing 1-0 at home to Newport and 2-0 away to Yeovil, we drew 0-0 against 10 men Chesterfield in League 2.

We've come an awfully long way.

We have come a long way, (im not saying your positioning like this either) but thats been and gone.......it's perfectly fair for people to ask questions, poke, be disappointed with a result (clearly some people go OTT) but its been a massive let down after a summer with so much talk and promise.

Too many people trotting out this mantra.....this includes criticising robins also, he's got to shoulder responsibility. I didn't like his comments about fans going OTT on Saturday, he himself said we have to go for it in summer.

There is time, so we must remain balanced, but ive no issue with challenging, constructively. There are some worrying signs that haven't been addressed, lets see how the next block of games plays out.

You can’t ignore the fact that we’ve come a long way and why would we want to. I just think expectation has outstripped our reality. We don’t own the stadium. We make losses. It’s actually a massive over achievement that we’re trading blows in the upper echelons of the league. It’s worth remembering that when the odd poor performance crops up

Crucially in the league we’ve won 1 out of 4… with arguably more difficult teams coming up.

Spot on.

People talk as if we are punching above our weight in this league. We are not. Pushing/aiming for top 6 of the Championship should be the very minimum for a club our size. The absolute minimum.

Fucking hell this board is depressing right now.

Yes we've been poor this season so far but a different result on Saturday and we'd all be going into the international break happy.

Think a lot of people on here and City fans in general are still stuck in that small club mentality. We're a big club, we shouldn't just be happy to be here and settle for mid table. Top 6 bear minimum.

The only team we have beaten in the league is one which is odds-on with the bookies to go straight back down to L1.

As for punching our weight in the upper echelons of the division, if i remember correctly, last season we only got something like 17 points from a possible 66 against the other teams who finished in the top half. If we don't change that this season, we won't be going anywhere.

3 points off the play-off spots maybe, but 3 places and 2 points off relegation.

We may be having (yet) another slow start to the campaign, but we have to ask why can't we ever hit the ground running? The training/coaching regime isn't working, from Aled Williams forward.

I don't think anyone does.

It's just some people aren't losing their head because we've only won 3 games this season out of 6.

Worst I've seen it. All the podcasts are the same too. I cannot believe what I'm listening to.

People suggesting there's serious issues going on because there aren't any medium shirts or because an inconsistent midfielder left on Friday.

In all fairness, I get it. From my POV the result isn't even necessarily the issue, it's the performances against what in retrospect are midtable teams.

Yes we've come a long way, but frankly after spending £40m on players over the last few windows there categorically needs to be a massive improvement in both results and performances on the field.

Whether you like that position or not, that's football. And football is a results business. You can't spend the amount of money we have and not expect fans to be angry at the product that's being shown on the pitch - even if there has only been a handful of games.

There seems to be a strange dilution between bedwetting and holding the players and backroom staff accountable for poor output. When in reality, as long as comments are at least reasonable / constructive, the two aren't actually mutually exclusive at all. Nor should they be made to be.

Perspective required all round. I said expectations would lead to early negativity if we weren’t winning every week but it really is just gone August. We’ve had to try and replace quality players who have left without breaking the bank. Some will prove great acquisitions some won’t.
Still think if Sheaf can get a serious run in the team we will be transformed. We need backup for him though.

We're a well run club, operating as sustainably as a Championship football club can these days, future of the club looks secured, we're usually entertaining to watch, we play in a great league and have exciting players, we've had some fantastic moments over the last few years. Great time to be a Cov fan, long may it continue because everything runs in ebbs and flows.

Not helped by the likes of Sky banging on about us being “favourites” etc. the core of the problem we have is that the squad has improved quite a bit but the expectation has outstripped it.
