52 goals scored so far in the league !! Amazing !!! :claping hands: :claping hands:

42 conceding :thinking about: :thinking about:

And without the -10 we would be still in the race for a automatic promotion place !! :guitar2:

With these results and the football we are playing there would be at least 15000 people to fill .... the Ricoh Arena every HOME game ...........

Are we the top scorers in the country again now?

Just checked. Yes we are. We've scored 4 more than the next best. Very impressive.

Top scorers in league 1, not the country, Man City have scored 57.

be at least 10K i recon, they would probaly get £20.00 a ticket too. i dare say there have been games at sixfields where a decent crowd could have made the differance between a win and a draw, who knows we could already be in the play off places chasing an automatic place.

still you wouldn't want to bite of your nose to spite your face would you?

This is where our current thread bare squad comes into play though, with Wilson out, January transfer window and joint 3rd worst defense in the league. I think this month will define our season. I just want us to make sure we are comfortably away from the relegation zone by March and then anything else is a bonus for me this season. After all we have had to deal with, just staying in this league will have been a massive achievement this season. It is nice though scoring goals for fun, just imagine how many times we would have been on Soccer am when they used to do the covvee break.

2nd highest in the country then. Didn't even think to check the PL. 57 goals in 20 games. That's just ridiculous!

To add to the goalfest stats, I read somewhere* Leon Clarke's 27 in 2013 is one of the best calendar years a Cov goalscorer has ever had.

*it may even have been on here

Awesome return, if we had only conceded somewhere between 10-25 goals we would be right up there with 52 scored.

As an ex-defender (and goalie), I always echo what the great Brian Clough used to say. "It doesn't matter if you score 5 goals a game - if the opposition score 6, you still lose!" This has happened a few times this season (maybe not by that score-line, though).
Our defence needs a really good shake up. It needs concentrating on big time. Then perhaps, our goals record will count for something.

im sure i read that blue and in particular sky blue was not a good colour for football teams - as it is hard to pick out

CCFC/Man city and Rangers - would disagree

When we went on that little bad run post AFC Wimbledon, our defensive record stayed the same but our goal scoring dropped off massively.

It's a zero sum game, spend too much focus on one end and you neglect the other. At this level though, no defender is going to be mistake free so may as well go for the other end.

Not many teams get out of L1 grinding out 1-0s. I'm happy with the current plan.

I was calculating goals per game last week, meant to post it but couldn't get it to format. Taking goals for and against into account, City averaged exactly 4 which was tops for all English teams .... Man City were second at 3.91 I think, and nobody else was close.

In Scotland there are 3 teams--Celtic--Rangers--Aberdeen and even Aberdeen are struggling at the moment.
The rest would struggle at Nuneaton's level.
