Are your kids still at junior school Tony? as if so I am surprised CCFC have never been. The club should though try to get out more

They came to my kids school two or three times, and it went down great. Wasps have never been to my kids schools, they only did a festival for Rugby at St Andrews which wasn't as well received nor popular as CCFC.

Yes, still in juniors. To my knowledge no, never been. Six years the oldest has been at school and as I get a lecture from her about what happened at school that day the minute I walk in the door (can't even take my shoe's of in peace) everyday I can't believe that she wouldn't have mentioned it. It would make my youngest's day if it happened, I've done a good job at getting her interested, she even sleeps with a CCFC flag on her bed

Could try sending a message to SBITC on here with the school etc? He will do his best to give you an answer.

Or if you want to PM me the school I can email it him (same thing, both will get there)

There might be a reason of some sort they dont go over your way, no budget for security and bulletproof vests or something.

I hope they do come in, as it would really mean something to your kids.

The last time for mine was at least a couple of years, so hopefully Rugby will be on the radar soon. If not perhaps someone you know at the School could put out a speculative email to the club, and hopefully get their attention. Fingers crossed as it good for the Club and the kids.

Not so much the oldest (she bailed on us for the Portsmouth game after she insisted I got her a ticket too) but certainly the youngest. I think I'll do what Nick suggested and send SBITC an email. No harm in asking is there.

Fwiw, the last thing that happened at our kids' school was some coaching with Gareth Southgate when the England u21s were in town.

I was priming the daughter to ask him about the best way to take penalties, but the missus (not for the first time) told me off and foiled my plans.

Fair play to the bloke though, they all had a great time. Would've been better if they did penalites though, imho.

What's the problem with it? They were given to kids who have been on SBITC training schemes over the summer holidays, it isn't just throwing them at random kids.

Calm down.
My lad used to get them when he was younger.
But they never got enough takers for the tickets available.
It is just the sorry state we are in.
My lad was getting them free when we were in the championship.
All I saying is I can't see 500 takers hope I wrong we need them all to get the bug.

hate to say it ..but this is where wasps have it nailed..they are basically going for broke with the free tickets ..a new games teacher started at my work this week and she said wasps gave her NETBALL team 4000 free tickets to distribute for free in the 1st season they were here ..no wonder they had big gates

How many netball players would have the slightest interest in rugby?

doesn't matter does it ?

They throw 4000 free tickets that no one would have used and get a 5% retention rate and its worth it.

That's the risk you take.
Just like the City you have your hard core supporters who go regardless.
It's just what do you do to try and get that attendance higher.
Sit there and do nothing?
Or try different ideas, no different then any other business.

With the City it is easy get the team playing well and in promotion contention and they will come.

With Wasps it is harder they are in a foreign land trying to get the locals on side, they seem to be aiming at the next generation of sports fans by targeting our children maybe they can bide their time until then.

This is a fight we need to win so City need to get dirty put some money to one side and fight fire with fire, before they lose those kids forever.

It sounds like they are going to some effort, making them the guard of honour and going on the pitch at half time etc. Hopefully they will enjoy it.

As long as they don't expect the same every week.

Would have been my dream as a kid

Exactly that.
Now we just need a new hero for the kids to follow.
That is another way to get them to come.

Attendance: 8,813 (453 away).
8813-(453+500) = 7860 paying CCFC fans.
I wonder how many of the 500 kids got hooked after that dreadful performance?

What did you think about the kids who days, weeks or months were made at half time today?

Feel sorry for them if they have to come back and watch some more of that shit.
Will they even admit it at school that they were there the day CCFC went bottom of the league.

If these are the disabled kids you refer too, then it is to be commended.

Much busier than usual, wasn't sure if it was because they had moved it so more people saw it.

Must say how great it was to see the joy on their faces at scoring past Sam by the way could we not employ more children as ball people seem to be very short today or would it be too much of a punishment watching that today from close range
