No it wasn’t! Bloody hell, you feed on doom. Or you need to see an optometrist.

It was high and the guy made little of it. To even remotely suggest it wasn’t a yellow is laughable. He also hadE other niggling fouls

The ref got the bookings correct - to say hyams Wasn’t as well is just wrong

What? I didn’t say it wasn’t a yellow. I think it was. You said it could have been red... show me another example of a foul like that being red! And high?! Laughable! He went in with his hip.

Hamer stands out because he is more streetwise than the rest, he will take a yellow to break up play where as some of the others won’t they will let the opposition away. Hamer just needs to get better at his shithousery just as Doyle learnt from Wise, maybe get Doyle in for some one to ones with him.

As for the ref he missed a load of their challenges but I think like Matt Mills he could see no wrong in them. We aren’t getting equal treatment from the refs at the moment.

What are you talking about. I haven’t even mentioned the Hyam one. Like I said, optometrist.

No it wasn’t. I literally quoted you saying Hamer’s could’ve been a red.

The Hamer one was a clear yellow all day long and a ridiculous tackle to make. It was just dumb, pointless lunge, taking the man out after he passed the ball.

It was also his 5th or 6th foul. You’ve got to love the combativeness and playing the game to the edge. But, he needs to control himself a bit because we need him to last 90 minutes.

That's not a bad idea. There was talk of Doyle maybe getting onto our coaching team when he retired, prior to him leaving us.

That explains why he went, I always thought he would make a good coach to teach the younger players the darker side of the game. That can make a big difference. I'm trying to remember the name of the guy that joined us on loan on the Jan window a couple of years ago. He didn't hardly play but MR said what a big difference he made in the dressing room.

Injury time is minimum to be played.....bloke who used to sit behind me up Ricoh never did get the hang of that or the fact you be offside from a goal kick. Refused to admit he was wrong despite being told every week and funnily enough the officials not giving it any week.

One good thing of not playing at Ricoh i suppose not having him in my ear

That was a lazy rumour put out at the time by people who get off on inventing such stories. Never seen anything from a reliable source to back it up.

It wasnt high, late but just got his leg across the player.
There was a similar challenge on Shipley first half blatantly stopping an attack which got a free kick but no card.

Hyam yellow possibly. But then the late challenge on Ostigaard in his own area a few minutes earlier was a yellow also.

There was a definate imbalance in cards per team but not the foul ratio by both sides

Don’t talk about the Hamer one to him, he only talks about the Hyam one... even though he’s said about the Hamer one, and it’s wrong, but he doesn’t want to admit that!

Was this Block 19? Had a very similar experience regarding the not being able to be offside from a goal-kick!....

This fawning over Better Days inside knowledge by many on here is not something I buy into. I can accept that he might have had a disagreement with someone at some point but that kind of thing will be commonplace anyway in any workplace, but until I see one of the management or players from that time confirm Doyle had a fall out which caused him to leave I will not buy into it being the reason he left. To my mind it was a footballing decision. While Doyle was clearly influential on our younger players (and on refs) he was starting to be left behind in League 1 at that time, and was not going to remain a fixture in the team. Given that he had always been someone who played week in week out it made sense for him and our club to move on.,

It could've been a red if it was a different tackle.

Think you're watching a different game. He was clearing the ball as the whistle went. There was no way to pull out of it. Watch it back. Ref reacted to the Reading player reaction.

It's pretty well known that Doyle & Viveash had a falling out but @better days never said that was the sole reason did he?
I'm sure it helped speed things up though.

Even Better Days says he just knows people around the game. Don't think his source is that close to the club, a lot of it is rumour. Not to say his info isn't accurate at times, but other times he's got things wrong.

Only thing I can find is this from Robins which all sounds pretty positive about Doyle and says there's a place on the coaching staff for him when he finishes playing.

Sky Blues boss has touching message for Michael Doyle

The Sky Blues skipper has joined Notts County on an 18-month deal

I've always expected Doyler to come back
He and Viveash had their differences but I think we got a late approach for him so he was allowed to leave as he was guaranteed to play
Nothing sinister in it and he left on good terms
Doyler and Viveash are big personalities so there are bound to be clashes but it's maybe harder when one is still playing and is the club captain
