Use Split My Fare, you can get a return from Cov for £49. Use them all the time.

Not frightened would just rather not play them. You get no kudos for beating them, it brings in little money and potentially a banana skin leading to embarrassment. We have lost plenty of cup games to teams with a lower league status than ours over the years.

It always has been. The magic is in non league and lower leagues having their Cup Final in the earlier rounds. Like Boreham Wood, Kidderminster and Mansfield yesterday.

I dont support Hereford or Newcastle but I can still remeber the goal that knocked Newcastle out in the early 70's. Who won the cup that year - I havent got a clue?

Will try and make this one. Can stay in Pompey with the folks.
I might even try and coax them out for this one.

It's a decent draw for us, as a test for the team on how far we've developed. I'm hoping we'll give them a real challenge and potentially win.

If it was 1972 then Leeds beat Arsenal in the final 1-0.
If it was 1973 then Sunderland beating Leeds 1-0.

Hello,

Saints fan here. I hope you guys enjoy the tie and the day out.

If any of you need to drive here (particularly if you're taking your family down) I'm more than happy to allow you to use my parking space for free. I live in a small close in the city centre a couple of hundred yards from the ground.

The area around St Marys can be a little rough although I live in the nicer bit the other side. I'm not sure if I'm going myself but I'm happy to meet you here to make sure you know where to go.

I'm not a huge fan of cars to be honest, hence my space doesn't get used much. Unfortunately drivers park all over the place round here too (double yellows, zig zags, pavement the lot), would much rather the space was put to good use on match days to mitigate some of this.

Just drop me a message over the next few weeks but if you're only going to drive from say 50 miles away and there's good public transport, it's probably best you use that unless it's prohibitively expensive.

Reminds me of one of my favourite football trivia questions:

If Sunderland won the cup in 1979 and Villa won the cup in 1981, who won it in 1980?

You will always get through to the next round assuming you treat it professionally. Then you get a bigger club one stage on with more interest.

Just like Newcastle.

Just like us at Sutton - and I think we were pretty professional that day, but still lost.

Your view is over simplistic. The cup is a game condensed into 90 mins. The better side normally wins but not always.

I think being scared of the easiest ties on paper is just a bizarre mentality to have. Agree to disagree I suppose

You are the one who keeps using the term 'scared'. I have said they are oponents that are better avoided - I have already stated several reasons why.

Imagine spending a fortune to literally just get your head down and have a wash, probably while your half cut. Premier Inn

Its a football away day with the lads, not a romantic getaway.

As long as the sheets are clean and there aren't any short and curlys found. It'll do after a day on the beer.

If you're going to stay at Premier Inn I would recommend staying at one of the new ones. The old one may be closer to the stadium but it's not great to be honest and right on the junction of a very noisy road.

Travelodge is fine though although like Premier Inn, the older one (on the Avenue) suffers from similar issues to the old Premier Inn one above.

A nice place to stay is the Elizabeth House Hotel nearby. You're also not far from London Road and Bedford Place for going out which is nice. Maybe have a roast at the cowherds pub too. Also not much wrong with staying in Eastleigh and getting the train to and from there if it's cheaper.

If you don't plan on staying out really late you could always stay at the new Village Hotel toward Chandler's Ford, as long as you get the No. 1 bus. It's £1 after 6pm at the moment (until further notice). Mainly if you're driving down as it's a bit of a walk to Eastleigh railway station.

1 - Southampton to Winchester

Have stayed in the Village at Chandler’s Ford with work. Very good recommendation, the one in Portsmouth also very nice.

Will be a bit of a mix. I'm not even sure what our first team even is at the moment lol the way things have been going. One thing is for certain that you'll see Shane Long come off the bench lol.

Which of the Premier Inn's by name would you recommend? The website suggests 5 to choose from. Thanks
