Good point. Early start if it’s gonna be 12:30 for the benefit of overseas fans with no connection to the clubs playing again.

I honestly don’t get the “shite draw” comments.

We will be playing in a big ground where we can take a large support, and with an outside chance of getting through. Unless we get drawn against a big 6 team it seems it will always be a shit draw to some, who are so clearly enraptured with the glamour of the PL it makes me wonder why they support us in the first place.

Mark of how far we've progressed in the last few years that away at a Premier league club doesn't excite. Personally think it's a good draw against a side we actually have some chance against and will be a great test for players like Hamer, O'Hare and Gyo.

To be honest, it's a good draw. A sustained PL side away. Should be around 5000 Cov down there.

A good test and a proper jolly up like Brighton away a few years back.

They’re fairly comfortable in mid table so will fancy a tilt at the cup. I expect their first team. Quite fancy this trip, best get on to Leamington.

I think their stature is something we aspire to, and I agree, they will field a strong team

Looking forward to seeing the difference between a workmanlike premier league side and us.

Decent draw, PL away day at a decent place in a decent stadium with a decent chance of winning. Not too shabby.

Happy with that draw, looking at the ties some of the other Championship sides got it could have been much worse.

Must have had more people come up to shake my hand in Southampton city centre afterwards than after I was mistaken for Ryan Haynes in Kasbah

Happy with that. Nice n local, plus my manager is a saints fan so that will add to it.

We have a chance of winning, if we play to our best.

Perfect draw for me. Living down south, most of my mates and colleagues are Saints fans. Plus it's easy for me to get to. Great draw.

Shite draw. Teams like West ham, Southampton and or Brighton will go all the way this year.

Tbh the players and management team will be pleased with this draw
No pressure on us and we can have a go and try to play football rather than be in a dogfight with a lower division side

Remember the last time we were in the Championship when we stuffed Blackburn at their place, who at that time were of a similar PL stature to Southampton today? The worse that can happen is that we get beat (which will be expected anyway) and we have to concentrate on the league. Let's try and be positive - nothing is certain in football.

Would've been a better tie if it was at home

Went to St Mary's in 2008 when we drew 0-0 so won't bother. Should sell whatever allocation we get though

I would rather go out to Southampton away than Boreham Wood or Kidderminster away or even worse at home.

Boreham Wood havent conceded a goal yet in the competition and are well organised - and we hardly score loads? That tie was definately one to avoid.

Quite happy with the draw.
Winnable game, test our game against prem opponents, large allocation, direct trains from Cov, city centre drinking, kids get to visit a premier league stadium.

It would have been awful at home. We'd have got about 9000 home fans for it.

We'll take loads away for the day out.
