The game that turned me sky blue, aged 7. I was so close to becoming a plastic Scouser like everyone else in the playground until my dad sat me down to watch MOTD on Sunday afternoon and the rest is history.

What a glory supporter I was!

I was there! I tell my son that's what the Premiership might be like if we get there. The odd great game and cannon fodder for the rest of the time.

I was at this game in the West End. The memory is still strong. Talk about limbs.
We had Man Utd on Boxing Day too as i recall. I think a 1-1 draw

We were West End too, although we seemed to swap to the Kop quite regularly for some reason.

I was Kop. At the time the away fans had the kop end of the sky blue stand with many scousers trying to get over as the goals went in

That's a ridiculous number of years. I can still in my mind watching from Kop Terry Gibson's clinching goal.
4th in table after this and then fell apart and just scraped staying up.

Yep I was there , can't remember which stand I was in would have been WE or kop in those days.
Wasn't there a suggestion of betting against Grobbelar in that season, although they would say that wouldn't they?
Also looks like a a couple of performances from earlier this season which suggests that not a lot changes in football maybe accept rules of the game and officiating (

Great to see Gibson making a monkey of Phil Neal before a lovely finish for his hat-trick

The one and only time I sat in the Main Terrace. I was right next to the Match of the Day cameraman so got to see the action replays first hand. 11 years old 1st year at senior school. Couldn't wait to rip into the Liverpool fans on Monday morning. They beat us 5-0 in the return fixture later that season

This was during my period 'away' from football.
Most of my friends were musos and I got completely immersed in the local music scene and everything that went along with it.
My heart was still sky blue but nobody I knew was going.
I don't remember much about those years.

Fantastic going into school on the Monday which was PE day, and laughing at the plastics in their Hitachi kits. The fourth goal was a brilliant finish, so assured. My love of skyblue had just started!

I remember standing on the Kop before the start expecting the worst, Liverpool's players looked so confident & they were a much bigger & more physical side but as soon as it started we were really up for it & getting stuck in. Not my favourite win over Liverpool though, that was the 5-1 in 92/93 when we battered them & should have won by more, I had a new boss at work who I didn't like & he was a scouser so I really enjoyed going into work on the Monday.

I am not sure this is the same season that they ended with something like 13 wins and a draw from the last 14 games to overhaul Everton.
Edit : I've just checked & this was 85/86.

I was in the Kop and the lads in front of me had just got their half time beers in despite it still being the tail end of the 1st half. Gibbo puts the ball into the net for 3-0 and 6 or7 paper cups of M&Bs finest went flying into the air !
Gibbos hat trick goal in the 2nd half was scored with his shooting boot falling apart.

I was in the Sky Blue stand. It was my brother's first game - what a start.
I was absolutely convinced that Liverpool would still win right up until the 4th goal. I remember that sense of relief when Gibson scored that goal.
Going into school the following Monday, with all the plastic Liverpool fans, was glorious.

Fantastic day and game. We were well up the table at that point but just stopped winning. Can’t remember if there were injuries in particular that caused it or it all just caught up with the squad we’d assembled from very little

Liverpool didn't win the league in 92/93, they were (relatively speaking) dogshit back then.

The best run I could find was in 88-89 when they lost at Man Utd on NYD & didn't lose again until Arsenal won the title at Anfield in the last game of the season. I remember the great run they had in 85-86 but that was only 14 games unbeaten in the league.

In a wood just outside of Aldershot - Final exercise before passing out of training.
Thought one of the civvy drivers was having a laugh Sunday morning when I asked him what the result was.
