Another new formation, but for once, its actually one I like. We scored twice (easily could have been more) at Walsall AND kept a clean sheet. Obviously I don't expect that every week but from what I saw, I like this new formation. But was does everyone else think? Has Pressley got it right this time?

Actually played 4-2-3-1 against Walsall and Chesterfield. But what ever it worked !! People get too hung up on formations!

Looked more like 4411 vs Chesterfield, nouble looked orthodox left midfielder for most of the game.

------------------allsop
Pennington Martin webster haynes
--O'brien ---thomas fleck nouble
-----------------jackson
----------------madine

O'brien was definitely more predominately rightside rather than central, and nouble was definitely more left side and hugging the touch line.

Looked like 2 wingers either side of the main striker to me. Tbh with you I think Pressley is the only one who knows what it is lol

Looked like 4-3-3 to me as well (keeping it simple). I liked it, but then I thought we played very well on Saturday so why wouldn't I! Gave us enough going forward to cause them problems and enough at the back to keep a clean sheet. Yeah, we got a bit of luck, but sometimes you need that and it doesn't mean we weren't the better team. One thing I did notice was that we caused them problems from corners and set pieces. Nothing to do with formation, but it shows what a decent ball in to the box will do!

4-5-1 with attacking 3 , the added striking intent makes it look 4-3-3

either way its a good thing, roll on monday!

According to SP himself it's still a 4-5-1 (which was have been using for a little while) but he has changed the personal to make it work better.

i think it works well, but it very much depends on the team carrying no passangers who aren't gonna get stuck in. It's vital that the midfield work hard in all of the phases of play and if someone is not at the races it could lead to problems going forwards or defending. But so far has worked well, everyone just needs to find a level of consistency and maintain a high work rate ( the one problem with nouble).
