I quite liked Nathan Clarke and believe he would have been that "lump" in L2.
He had a couple of bad games toby fayre, but the rest I thought he was solid.

I agree. Will most likely end up at Grimsby now

Rumoured to be in the region of 300,000 .
We've signed
Doyle : league 2 winner
McNulty : playoffs with Pompey
McDonald : league 2 winner

The spine of the team , new keeper would be great

Absolutely superb business so far , how can you not start to get excited

I really like the look of that so far.

With McDonald though, didn't he only play 23 games for Northampton that season? He hasn't played that much in the last few years has he?

What's with all these two year deals? Surely they should be permanent up till January?

This is very un CCFC like.

I'm a bit disconcerted that he only made 3 starts last year and didn't seem to have any long-term injury issues... However good age, seems a big unit and reasonable experience at L2

Looks right yes...
played 49 times for Hereford in the conference.
37 times for Northampton in league two and league one
25 times for Telford in the conference
Hopefully a full preseason and he will be back up to speed.

Trust me, just a case of a manager (with poor judgement) not rating him and wanting league one experience rather than letting Rod gain it himself.
Based on our past dealings in the transfer market I would be extremely surprised if you paid us £300,000 for him. More like £30,000.

A key line in the interview on the club page.
"We are looking to add further to the squad in the coming days."

SIGNING: Rod McDonald agrees to join Sky Blues

“I’m really looking forward to working with Rod. He is a quick, strong and aggressive centre half, who can also read the game well.

As ever, lets wait and see what he's like over a prolonged period before writing him off / crowning him as the next Baresi

With the amount of players we need to bring in one surely has to be a dud. Let's hope it's none of the first 3 signings.

How many different backdrops did they use to get the shakey hand picture?

The takeover has happened but they haven't announced it as it would drive fees for players up.

On the surface looks like another good signing.

Starting to get a little bit excited for next season now.

I am a little concerned about his choice in leisurewear though, dressed in tartan top!

A difficult season for McDonald and I think all Cobblers will wish him well at Coventry. When he first came into our side he was awful and looked out of his depth. That he proved us wrong with some outstanding performances in our promotion year is to his great credit. Unfortunately for him neither Page nor JED had any belief in him and he spent the season on the bench. We will never know whether or not he can cut it at L1 level, at least wearing a Cobblers' shirt. I wouldn't be surprised if he proves his doubters wrong. I was once in that number as were most of our fans.

The pictures of rottweilers are more encouraging though for a centre back

Cobblers fan in the office thinks he's a great player and can't understand why he wasn't played more.

I'm not too sure about calling him Concrete Rod like the Northampton fans though.

Wrong.

It is officially:

A quick, strong and aggressive centre half who is not good enough for Northampton

Concrete Rod! Pacey, was mom against us last season and an integral part of their title winning team. I suggested him on the league players released page, delighted with this

All very encouraging ! Not that I know much about the individuals but it is the right way to do things, get your men in, give fans some hope, get them to gel from the off in training and hit the ground running when the season starts !

This is bullshit, everyone knows the top sides don't do their business until the season has already started.
