As said previously, they were more likely to have been forced or coerced into the trailer, but i agree that that shouldn't detract from the human tragedy.
Newspapers know the identity of the Irishman who RENTED the trailer, but HE hasn't been named, though is likely to be linked more directly to the operation than the cab driver is!

The initial horror was for the victims. But if you are saying you would not expect any sympathy or anyone’s concern if you were (if it turns out to be the case) wrongly suspected in the national media of being involved in the deaths of multiple people then I take my hat off to you. You are an incredibly selfless and rare individual

With manslaughter, which makes much more sense. The murder thing always seemed rather baffling.

If they're charging him, even with manslaughter rather than murder, are they saying he knew they were in there?

I’m no legal expert, however I think when you’re arrested it’s

Got a feeling when you’re arrested it’s for the worst case scenario. Then as more evidence is found it gets whittled down to whatever the CPS believes is the best chance of a conviction.
*i have zero legal qualifications!

I'm not a lorry driver but it does look a tad suspicious if you.drink.your lorry to a deserted industrial estate in the early.hours and then.open you sealed trailer

They must think they have evidence of earlier involvement by him. His picking up of a trailer in which they have probably already died is not causing their death
