Everybody who went to watch at Sixfields were supporting the SISU plans weren't they? That was what you liked telling everybody.

Ask the ones attending here what they think.

The ones I have talked too realise it was here or bust.
I guess the ones who are not happy don't come so are voting with their feet.
Bigger crowds shows a new fanbase but I don't know the mix of old and new.

But it wasn't bust. They could have had a stadium in London.

No, I said that the fans that go are indirectly supporting Sisu plan to get the Ricoh.
Never had a go at them but just highlighting the implications.

They are attending though so the assumption would be that they don't mind. At the same time it doesn't speak for every Wasps fan. Those that are unhappy with the move are unlikely to be at the Ricoh. Just like those unhappy with moving to Northampton didn't go and those that didn't mind so much, went to Northampton.

No i'm saying 3K on a petition from a team with an average 5K attendance is pretty impressive. Especially when their forum bans anyone who speaks against the move.

It was before they moved. Ask then again now they have seen the facility they have.

Turns out the whole mess indirectly got Wasps a stadium at discount price which they could then use to raise more cash. The irony....

I get it now Italia. If Sixfields was a better facility you would have gone and SISU would have been the Messiahs. Why haven't I been able to see this before?

This is what makes you a joke.
Why would they pay for it if they can use their status to get a sponsor to do it ?

But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good moan.

If they build a 40K super stadium in Rugby town centre I'd drop them and then buy a Wasps programme and learn the players names

He means CCFC should have bid 30 mill. They should have paid a lot more than Wasps actually did because it means more to them.

To clarify. If we have 30m for a 15000 seater which doesn't exist ( Tim's figure for a new build somewhere near Cov ), why couldn't we have upped the bid for the Ricoh to a maximum of 30m? Maximum, it does not have to be 30m. The Ricoh has everything that we want - from 365 days revenue to the car park. I am saying that quibbling over 5,5m for the Higgs' share was not clever. Should have negotiated for both shares, an extension of the lease and pay off the loan with a ceiling of 30m, that being the alternative ( without counting time spent looking for a stadium and maybe a poor location in the end ) of building Tim's Lego stadium. We didn't, we offered Higgs 2m cash, take it or leave it. Which they did.

What he means is, when you claim to be as rich as they do and you have just taken 35m in bonds. Usually you would build and pay for it then attract a sponsor to recuperate costs. Where as they despite all the millions in the bank seem reluctant to pay out initially?

To be fair Italia does my head in but even he don't suggest CCFC should have paid up to 30m because it means more to us as we're local. That is astounding!

Because it wasn't worth that, as proven by the selling price?

If CCFC offered £2m for 50% and it was turned down, and then it sold be £150 million for 100% I'd agree it was a joke bid.
Have they said they have £30 million anywhere?

But they haven't got a sponsor to do it. They are looking for a sponsor to pay for it. Why can't the self proclaimed richest club in Europe pay for a new (not refurb of Higgs, that's not what was promised) state of the art trainng ground in Coventry?

They thought they were being cleaver mart. They thought they could keep up the brinkmanship and get it on the cheap. It's backfired and the irony is - now they've decided to invest a few bob in a decent manager who knows his stuff, and gave him a bit of money to get a team together, things on the pitch are turning around. IF ONLY they hadn't played hardball, they'd probably be able to sell the lot next season as a going concern Championship outfit with a long lease on the stadium.

I am saying they had two choices.

1. Build a new stadium somewhere near here. Tim suggested it would cost 30 m and that they had investors who were prepared to pay that.

2. Buy the Ricoh which has everything they need and is in Coventry for a maximum of 30m. Maximum.

which option would have been simpler? Wasps didn't even pay 30m. We could have offered up to 30m ( up to! ) and still be in a better position than we are. Quibbling over 2m was ridiculous. We now first have to find a place for a stadium. The council in Boreham Wood offered Wasps one with 15000 capacity and a hotel for 22m. The Ricoh has 32000 and 365 days a year business. Ricoh is the better deal as stadium's go - as a Wasps has shown. We will not get a stadium built in Coventry with 32000 ( or even 25000 ) capacity and 365 revenue for 30 m. Which means, that to get what we want and need we will end up spending more than 30 m. ( It will never happen ). Even if there are no takers at 30m for the Ricoh, we still need a stadium which will cost 30m - and we have got nowhere until now. We would be playing there as owners now had we used the 30m ( or probably less ) to get the Ricoh instead of pussying around and landing with sweet f.a. or rather a pie in the sky stadium.

What's that got to do with anything? Did CCFC promise a brand new state of the art facility in the city? Do they go around proclaiming to be the richest club in Europe?

Has martcov just said the club are saying they are building at the butts? Yes he has. My answer was the club haven't which I can happily provide evidence for. Can he? Les Reid and the club are not the same person nor the same company.
