Naa. You should ring billionaire Roman Abramovich that loser has only just applied for planning permission to redevelop Stamford Bridge to INCREASE capacity. What a waster, all he has to do is close a few blocks and put prices up. It equals the same according to the Grendull school of economics. I bet he has a light bulb moment when you tell him and it all of a sudden becomes clear why he's been a failure all his life.

It's ultimately pointless trying to argue with a petulant child like you. You are totally incapable of rational thought and debate. Just a stream of boring, unfunny one liners.

If you want to attempt the condescending approach try and do it properly.

If only you were there when Championship club Derby Country last sold their Stadium naming rites for their 33k stadium. Someone must have seen them coming as they only got £7M over 10 years. Mind you they are the same idiots who abandoned their last stadium for a bigger ground when all they had to do was put the prices up. Supply and demand init.

Naming rights, ground sponsorship, parking, corporate sales, events, concerts - seriously either debate like an adult or don't bother.

But we are not getting a new ground are we? So surely there can be a case that renting the Ricoh with no new stadium financing costs is viable, possibly even advantageous. Has anyone done the sums (without spin)?

History shows us that not having access to the additional revenues limited our turnover to one of the lowest in the championship. No new stadium is coming. So we're between a rock and a hard place. A new stadium is viable and staying at the Ricoh limits our potential to in all probability league one - championship yoyo club.

No I can do it properly. Like everything else Tony tries to do on this forum (like identify which full back is which) he fails miserably at it.

How much parking revenue will be available at the Butts? We probably get more at the Ricoh on our current deal. Do we not get corporate sales at the Ricoh? Events and concerts? Do you really think we'll be a bigger pull than the Ricoh given that they have a sizable indoor venue and an even larger outdoor venue, a hotel on site, bars on site, restaurants on site, a casino on site and ample parking with good motorway access. Won't we have to apply for some sort of license to put outdoor concerts on? Who would issue/approve that licence? Maybe we can get Marianne Faithful next time she swings by Coventry? I remember you saying what a scoop that was for ACL. The Butts might just have enough room to accommodate her.

So does a 15k stadium at the Butts with Gendulls imaginary revenue stream's and unique supply and demand pricing policy that goes against the industry norm of increasing capacity not reducing capacity to gain more revenue.

I'm all for moving to the Butts into a 20k stadium with 25k potential. Anything less than that is nonsense.

It's only you that is droning on about a 15,000 stadium at the Butts.

It's pitiful distraction technique. Gilbert isn't employing you as his bitch is he?

You wanted a mature debate so I asked you a load of questions in post #42 so we can debate and you ignore them and start posting like a petulant child. What's up? Were the questions to difficult for you? Do you need a grown up to help you?

Tony you are a troll. You can't even identify a single player who plays for the club.

You never log in to match threads of post on anything CCFC related.

You are now really starting to bore me.

In other words you can't answer the questions because you'll discredit your own "business plan" for the club so you're reverting to posting like a petulant child as a form of distraction.

Apologies, keep forgetting that all clubs need 365 revenue apart from CCFC. Even your first love Wasps said it was vital.

Well I can but as you can't even tell Sam Ricketts from Chris Stokes it's all pointless.

This is a discussion on the need for 365 day revenues. There is one significant question actually that I've often asked wasps fans like you and Italia - why do wasps feel ground ownership is necessary for them?

Why?

Once again we come back to the same point. The vast majority of clubs don't have the facilities that the Ricoh has. What we need is to be on an equal footing with them. Sure it would be great to have a huge hall and conference rooms etc but how many grounds have?

But until or owners do something about it their is nothing the rest of us can do about it.

I'm not suggesting they do. I'm pointing out that our nearest competitor for 365 day revenue will. The question is why would we be first choice for someone wanting to stage an event in Coventry over the Ricoh? The simple answer is we won't be. Unless we have something different to offer. Which we won't.

Talk of us putting on events and concert at a 15k stadium at the Butts while the Ricoh is on our doorstep with vastly more to offer is overstated and a red herring. You really don't have to use too much brain power to work that out. We'll never be on an equal footing with them because as you've already pointed out "The vast majority of clubs don't have the facilities that the Ricoh has" and that's the club we'll be in.

Couple that with the fact I'm pretty sure (although I'm always happy to be proven wrong) you need a license to hold an open air concert and I'm pretty sure (again I'm happy to be proven wrong) it's issued by the local council. What's our relationship like with the council?

So that leaves naming rights. As I've already proven with an actual example someone has already overstated that value. So they then throw corporate entertainment and car parking into the equation. Do we not get corporate entertainment at the Ricoh? No gain there then. What car parking is available at the Butts now let alone once the stadium capacity has grown? Not alot I believe. We do apparently get some car parking income at the Ricoh though so that could actually be a loss.

If we leave the Ricoh it has to be for financial gain for the club. We ain't going to be able to compete with our neighbours so alot of the income streams are never going to be available to us and we're going to cut our potential gate receipts in half and I think we all acknowledge that ticket sales is the largest and most important revenue to any club. Regardless of its stadium arrangements.

I would say realistic and true. This is a football club not Wimbledon lawn tennis club. We need a stadium big enough to allow an average of at least 20000,00 which we should get in the Championship. The Butts is too small and noise restrictions will apply. An example is Bayer Leverkusen where local residents, after years of struggle, have obtained the possibility to stop mid week CL games because of noise levels. I don't need to mention the threats that were flying around should that ever happen. Not nice for all concerned.

That's an issue I'd never considered. Do CRFC play midweek games?

Not sure we're quite at the stage where we need to worry about the noise from midweek CL games

To go back to the original post, you realise that if you hire somewhere, you have to pay for it, thus diminishing any profits you make from the event, potentially rendering it a pointless exercise?

And share it with another club (Cov) who have a very long lease. Isn't that rather similar to the current situation?

It's not just old grounds. Not much in the way of parking at the Emirates or St Marys for example.

Fair point, although I would say that St Marys has ample parking within walking distance from the ground. I usually park at the Isle of Wight ferry terminal. Only a 10 minute walk from there and there's hundreds of free spaces usually.

Just pointing out that if we got the Butts, we won't be getting 365 days revenue from car parks or loud events. The Ricoh on a low rent is still the best option for the foreseeable future. Not Perfect, but have heard no better Plan up til now. People accept "365 days Revenue" but never ask what it is or how much Rent we pay to the propco for the 365 days of potential revenue bringers, or even give a date when the Revenue starts to flow. Instead people wonder why the council, in particular, Mutton think that SISU are a bunch of.......
