Cheers for that, is it just me or did that cup win mean more to us than other teams
Cup wins mean to them.

Great scenes in the city centre after the game. Could have been Milan!

Nah....it just meant way more in the era.....the FA Cup was a huge trophy back then.....it hadn't been devalued by the watered down expansion of european football and the over-hyped bullshit of being 4th best, or even just surviving, in the wanky PL that inevitably followed.....

...also, it was even more valued to the teams at the time because the red-shite pricks had got us banned from europe, so it was clearly the premier knock-out tournament in the world at the time.....

......and of course, we'd won fuck all of note since 1883....

Oh I agree the cup meant much more then, biggest game of the season bar none.
Obviously teams that compete at the right end of competitions all the time ( Liverpool,UTD,
Arsenal, Spurs. Chelsea etc,) it's expected, so it becomes almost the norm.
But what about the likes of Southampton, Pompey, Wigan etc, do they constantly reminisce,
Don't get me wrong I love to reminisce about it, best weekend of my life.
Despite drinking copious amounts of beer and vodka, I swear I remember every second from
When we caught the bus at the top of Blackhorse rd, exhall on the Friday lunchtime to take
Us to Cov station, and on to London. To when we got back from Coventry City center at 3am
Monday morning. Fantastic.
