Just seen this on Twitter. Very odd reason IMO. Don't mean for that to sound insensitive, but surely this wouldn't affect the players?

i think its more when paramedics are trying to help someone they need silence and dont need a football game going on in the background when its a serious incident their dealing with

I get that, but wouldn't that just mean a delay in the game? I'm only seeing text on the matter and haven't seen scenes etc, so might be speaking out of term, if it was a major incident (not that I'm speaking down a heart attack).

Just seen this on BBC so I imagine the players were off the field for some time, so I now understand why it was done.

He was being treated on side of pitch and they drove ambulance down side of pitch too
