To be fair, didn’t Torp play that role decently well. Imagine he’d be the back up for him
He'd trust Torp to be a decent back up, you could also argue he is actually part of our current most effective midfielderThere’s a lot to like about Torp but he’s much more suited to being a CM. If Rudoni got injured, could you trust Torp and/Allen to fit in at AM for more than a handful of games? Probably not.
It’s all well and good having 3-4 strikers in the squad, but on game day, you need players to make an impact in wide areas and at AM from the bench.
This is where we really suffer when Plan A isn’t working imo.
We had to change our formation because we ran out of wingers.
Yeah could easily fit Torp as a starter (imagine it would be the 4-3-3 and not the 4-2-3-1 mind). He'd trust Torp to be a decent back up, you could also argue he is actually part of our current most effective midfielder
Grimes, Torp and Rudi.
Can't remember if he's been mentioned before but Dor Turgeman, who is linked with Rangers would be an interesting one. Not too sure it's realistic, probably out of our reach. Skillful striker, 21 years old, 6'1" and quick with a decent eye for goal but in a poor league. Probably gonna go for over £4m so unlikely we'd get close unless moving a striker on and not picked up by someone in Europe's top leagues but his YouTube vid is a decent watch.
We currently cant go up to cat 1 academy due to the facilities we dont have
You can't build a squad based on having 3 x LWs good enough to avoid ever having to vary formation.
We got unlucky with Wright and EMC being out at the same time for as long as they were. Sh*t happens!
So we currently have 3 strikers, 1 LW, 1 RW.And how often did we play Saka even though he wasn’t having an impact or needed a rest or force BTA out there? I don’t think two RW and two LW is some crazy out there squad depth. Wright is a ST now it seems.
So we currently have 3 strikers, 1 LW, 1 RW.
I can see it finishing the summer as
2 Strikers (Not including Wright)
2 RW
2 LW (Including Wright here)
There is more flexibility in the squad than that and we have 4 strikers, a right winger, a left winger and Raphael who has played on the left briefly but is really more of a right winger. 2 of the strikers have been deployed in wide positions. So we currently have 3 strikers, 1 LW, 1 RW.

No one has asked him to and no one has said that? Not at CM and AM simultaneously.
Looking at our bench, you have Eccles, Allen and Torp. Eccles and Allen perform the same role (more or less),
In my mind, the bench should look something like this:
GK
RB/LB - (JDS for now)
CB - (Binks/Lati)
CM - defensive minded (Eccles)
CM - creative (Torp)
AM - hopefully can play wide too (Goodrham - to chuck a name out there who’s been vaguely linked)
RW/LW
ST - profile 1
ST - profile 2
From that alone, you need 2-3 players and that’s without any outgoings.
Would very much like Aasgaard in that AM slot, available at a fixed price also. Not at CM and AM simultaneously.

He had a 3.5 million release clause from Wigan. He will have been poorly advised if it is a lot more than that. It was a gamble with him moving in January.Aasgard would be a very good signing but they would want 4 or 5 mill i would imagine. I would assume money wil be used in other areas 1st where we are not so deep.
@Brighton Sky Blue seems to know of him personally, and says that there is a relegation clause in his contract.Aasgard would be a very good signing but they would want 4 or 5 mill i would imagine. I would assume money wil be used in other areas 1st where we are not so deep.
There is indeed, but knowledge that one exists was itself an ‘oops’ never mind what the amount is. He joined Luton to put himself in the shop window for helping his international prospects so is expecting the clause to be activated this summer.@Brighton Sky Blue seems to know of him personally, and says that there is a relegation clause in his contract.
Thats a great idea, too much potential is wasted by not playing mens football and end up just falling into the wildernessI think changing the structure of the academy would be better.
Have it up to U18's, if they sign professional at 18 farm them out on loan for 2 years (unless they are good enough for the first team) if they arent ready by 20 then they never likely will, and release them.
We dont need as many U21's games as we have
Still would it be beneficial to invest into the facilities to get there as well?We currently cant go up to cat 1 academy due to the facilities we dont have
No chance. Can't see many coming in but those who do will be with the aim of being in the 1st team and not squad players. We're a good side that needs a few tweaks. Then if an offer is made we can't afford to turn down we will need replacements.Really hope we haven’t deluded ourselves into thinking we can go again with this squad.
I doubt it would be. King clearly feels the sameStill would it be beneficial to invest into the facilities to get there as well?
Tbf you can only do so much at once. Training ground is a much better standard now, there’s nothing to say they won’t look to improve the academy in the future.I doubt it would be. King clearly feels the same
Through turning up at court and trying to buy it? Was that just for show?I doubt it would be. King clearly feels the same
I'm still hopeful we can mould Rodrigues into a player competing for a start . He is apparently so naturally talented but physically lackingSo we currently have 3 strikers, 1 LW, 1 RW.

What has the stadium got to do with the academy facilities? At least understand what you are replying toThrough turning up at court and trying to buy it? Was that just for show?
Expect things to get rolling by the weekend, nothing other than a pick up in helicopter flights in the last couple of days!
FB folk will still kick off when we haven't signed anyone by 7pm...Transfer window closes tonight so nothing going to happen till it reopens on 16th June.
Unless they’re out of contract of course.
