Interested on the striker as assume it’s one we think would be good enough for the step up? Wouldn’t mind getting rid of all four of them tbh. Wright just isnt either the striker I think Lampard wants or the winger either. He’s a great inside forward to nick a FM term. Also would allow funds for Lampard tostart to build his own team.

I want to like Simms and feel there is a player there and on paper would suit Lampard. But he’s got no real aggression, and offers little in terms of hold up play, do feel he’s better in the squad mind for his presence.

BTA could be a good option but again just not consistent. If happy to be a bench option, fair enough but think Jimmy alluded to him wanting to be the main striker.

Bassette is just way too raw for this league. Got huge potential and would love to see him loaned to a top half league one side next year.

BTA's nowhere near good enough to be the main striker

All forwards in this league are inconsistent hence why they are playing at this level but Haji is a 20 goal a season striker, i certainly wouldn’t accept anything less than what we paid if it was up to me.

What did we pay for him, c£7.5m?

It would take significantly more than that to get him.

He's had a poor spell, but he's still one of the best forwards in the division.

It'd probably loan him out to League One and see how he gets on up until Xmas. At this point though, considering his age and him still supposedly not being fit enough to play, I don't think he has a future with us.

No harm in giving him the opportunity to prove himself. Never know he might step up.

Maybe we can be the bigger club dictating that players we loan out get game time for once. Would love to be in a position to send Bassette out to a Low Champ/hight Lg1 team but say he's got to play. Have a break in his loan deal at Xmas too see where he's at

All plausible. If we don’t go up (and I’m not expecting to) I think we lose MvE and find it q hard to resist good money for Rudoni.

If Wright is serious about regaining his place in the US World Cup squad he may need a bigger shop window than the mid-range Championship to catch the eye of Pocchetino. I’ve heard that Sporting might need to replace their centre forward; the Portuguese league isn’t the best but it could significantly raise his profile.

Despite how frustrating and inconsistent he is his scoring record for us is very good and that costs money.

Like the look of the lad playing for Walsall, Taylor Allen, basing this purely on the 45 minutes of this game I’ve seen him, but he looks decent.

The worry is lots are slagging of Raphael I watched him in the recent reserve game at the cbs and he was the best player on the pitch easily shows how bad some of the back up players are.

From what i understand at the moment

Collins
Binks
Bidwell
Allen
Sheaf (but for some reason hes brought a new house in Stratford and joined the golf club so dunno if that's now changed)
Simms
BTA

Are the ones to be shifted on

Stoke and Portsmouth sniffing round Eccles

Send Bassette out on loan to a lower Belgian Pro League team for a year. If he does well we can convince one of the big boys to spend £5m+ on him.

Well whoever comes in and how many gets moved on, it'll be an exciting summer window, gives FL the chance to get his players in and shape the squad.

Also something we can look forward to and that's no slow starts to the season

Didn’t we just give Bidwell a new contract?

hasn’t Sheaf’s missus just given birth aswell?

Good point. Starting a family could change someone's outlook. Though I suppose if you were going to do it you'd do so when the child was very young to minimise disruption to the development. But having to move on top of getting used to the massive changes in your life probably isn't a hassle you need. Maybe in a couple of years before the kid starts school.

Far more likely that he isn't going to get the offers he wants now though I think.

Well, if thats right that’s almost a squad rebuild right there.
I don’t know why but I’m slightly surprised it’d be Binks and not Lati going.
It’ll be interesting to see where Sheaf ends up.

I think it was said Bidwell only got a new contract as a clause in his current deal was triggered.

Again, this makes no sense. Surely the triggering of a clause is covered under the existing contract, no need for a new one.

Sheaf - obvious

Allen out of contract so makes sense

Binks and Bidwell will have takers

Simms & BTA - does both going mean we are looking at signing a new striker?

Collins - who on earth is taking him? L1 team for free I imagine?

Wouldn't say no to £3m+ for Eccles

I can see why Lati has been used a lot more and is more versatile and works hard, also a bit of a leader so a great character to have around

In Bidwells (and Sakamoto's contract) an appearance trigger was inserted

Dunno how many, but for example if Bidwell was to start 20 games this season, then that clause states an improved contract must be offered

It's not rocket science

I just wonder about Binks’ development. If this is true then clearly FL has seen enough.

Seems odd. I thought that kind of thing was agreed at the time, e.g. X extra years at £Y per week if the clause is met.

To be honest I think binks has the potential to be a good player he just needs gametime, whether we could loan him out might be a shout but if someone offers a reasonable fee dont see why we’d turn it down

Not heard anything about a striker.
The last we spoke about was that it was his understanding there was a big recruitment meeting in London, there were 2 lists drawn up. There has been communication with a few agents, but we'd be waiting on the outcome of this season before advancing.

It was Stoke at home when he told me about the LB, he said whether we go up or stay in the Championship, there has been a LB identified, who can also cover LCB if needed, so that may leave us open to bringing in a more right sided new CB (if Lati leaves, as per the whispers).

With regards to outgoing players, again i think a lot depends on where we are, but there are pretty much 6 definite from the current first team squad, that will be leaving / wanting to move for more minutes.

Tyrese Asante seems to fit the bill for the RCB/RB role too so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him coming in
