We haven't even utilised the loan market yet which I firmly believe we will

Wonder if Chelsea will let that Acheampong go out on loan. Looked very good vs Palace.

We realistically don’t need a lot though. A centre half and a versatile forward. The bench on Saturday was strong, even without Eccles, Tats, Sheaf and Lati

Doubt it. They are very strapped for CB's.

Tyrique George though we should be aiming for

The obsession with Doyle still baffles me. He's a very good CB and pretty on the ball. I wouldn't pay anywhere near the money Wrexham are paying.

He missed a good chunk of the season for Leicester 2 years ago due to a knee injury and missed 6/7 games towards the end of last season because of injury.

If he’s starting games in the premier league for Chelsea then I doubt they want to let him go out on loan

They are in the market for another CB. Hato is highly rated but not match fit at the moment. Think he’ll fall down the pecking order when the season gets properly up and running.

The good thing about players like Doyle going to another club is that we dont then have to endlessly talk about a player that's not ours. Or a player we might not of shown any interest in recently...

Oh hold on..

He may well have been and for whatever reason it fell through , we don't know. Similarly we don't know if we were ever in for Doyle ( and bringing him back just because he played well in a back 5 here previously isn't a good enough reason ). Neither do we know who we are in for.
Judgement can only be made at the end of the window .

No everybody seems to be panicking over lack of signings, 3 weeks back people were mocked for showing a displeasure in the summer business! My opinion is this window has been absolutely wank only decent thing is we have held onto the bulk of the squad but you can never just sit on your hands!

I would have thought it was obvious we had no interest in Doyle once we made an 8m bid for Hughes.

Wank would be losing all our best players. We've had wank windows and this isn't one.
It's disappointing in parts, football fans love new signings which is totally normal and we haven't yet moved on a couple of players i think we should really have moved past as a club right now, but there is still time. It should be judged in 2 weeks.

Yeh spot on mate. Would be a hell of a statement if we went back with a bigger offer, bloke seems incredibly highly rated.

No one reliable said anything about us being in for Doyle, just an easy link to make given the history.

Still confident a CB will come in.

I look forward to the U Turn when we get nobody in and "Bidwell is good enough to cover LCB"

- Ex player exists.

- Club/manager/recruitment don’t even want him.

- Cov fans fume that we’ve ’missed out’.

I agree we need CBs but I don’t know if you can ‘miss out’ on someone you don’t want.

U turn by me?

If we don't get a CB in it's very poor recruitment/squad planning.

I wasn't just talking about Perry, it was the 'need for an experienced battle hardened player'. Gary Gillespie had played 22 games in Scotland and was 18. Phil Babb was 22 and had played 80 games in the Third Division and joined us when we were in the Premier League.

I'm relatively confident we'll get a couple more in.

Ideally, yes, it would be nice if we were in a position where most of our business was complete but transfer windows are never linear nor straightforward so I don't really see the sense in getting worked up at this stage.

So we hold on to all the top players, add improvements to right back and goalkeeper, a decent left back and clearly making bids for other players, yet thats wank??

Could it be that this Tyrese Asante is the Bobby replacement, has also played with MVE through the dutch youth system etc could compliment each other well and give us better balance?

Could we cope with 2 Asantes tho? How would we know which one to slag off?

So between all the parachute clubs ( how many still get payments?) and promotion clubs spending like fuck, do the clubs like us really have a fair chance of getting decent players in?
